Overheating issues

Posted By: etmateo On: 11-02-2009 @ 09:23:14         Reply | Edit
I was driving on the highway yesterday when my car started to overheat. I pulled over and checked the coolant. Once filled with coolant, I was able to make it about 20 miles before my "Check Gauges" light came on and my temp was in the red. I turned my heater on max to cool it down and made it to a safe spot. The air coming out would fluctuate from hot to cold to hot. I got it towed to my friend's house and let it sit overnight. This morning I drove it 6 miles before it started overheating again. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a thermostat or water pump. Thanks

Sounds like you need to bleed the cooling system if the heat keeps going from hot to cold. It would get cold everytime iy hit a air pocket in the cooling system.

Sure. Check the fan fuses. Your cooling fans are not coming on.
