tryin to get the lower control arm off the front, but the inner tie rod is in the way and won't let my bolt slide out of the arm. i can't get the tie rod off for nothing. any tricks to getting it unscrewed? i've used a fan clutch wrench that fit on it perfect and couldn't get it turned, even used a pipe wrench. no luck at all. -- 94 Z28|BBK Mid-length Headers|SLP Loudmouth|!EGR|!CAGS|!AIR|Canton Oil Pan. make sure you BACK OFF THE SET NUT FIRST, just on the back end of the tie rod end, it shouldnt effect the removal process, but it may help if its rusted together. I just replaced one 10,000 miles ago and it came right apart. --

He might be referring to the sleeve that slides
over the end of the tie-rod.
Good luck getting it to come out without using the
proper tool. You can save a lot of time and
headaches by renting/buying the tools. -- Welcome to the Internet, where everyone's a mechanic and has a 10 second car.

nobody had the tool that would fit. they were all just barely too small. finally got it though. propane torch and a fan clutch wrench did the job. -- 94 Z28|BBK Mid-length Headers|SLP Loudmouth|!EGR|!CAGS|!AIR|Canton Oil Pan. RIP
