I am thinking about putting nitrous on my bone stock 2000 Z28 M6. But I am wondering if the rear end will hold up.
I am just curious if it is the same part that always breaks in these rear ends? If so can you buy stronger after market parts and make these rear ends strong again, or are they hopeless? I guess the main question is:
What exactly is wrong with these rear ends, and can it be fixed?
Thanks for your help guys,

It can't be fixed. Just replace the rear with a 9" or a 12 bolt. Whichever.
It's just too bloody small to be of much use unfortunately. Spray on it till it breaks, then upgrade. -- Dave

Traction is the enemy of the 10bold, especially from the dig. So, as mentioned, spray from a roll and you will have no problems...
Spray from the hole with some sticky tires, and thats when stuff starts to break. -- Former ride: 531RWHP/477RWTQ Only bolt ons! ...technically everything used a bolt to install

i leave on stickys and a 150 shot
however, my rear has a loud thunk when going into gear now. so ive bought 9"
you will be more happy with some bolt-on mods, like headers and some intake.
the rear will hold up better, and a good new one is ~$1700+ --
