Rolled Rear Fenders ?

I am scheduled to have some 315 tires put on the rear end of my care on Thursday." Trying to hook up better" I ordered the Nitto 555 tires. After I ordered the tires I was informed I need to roll the back fenders to accomidate the extra width. I went ahead and scheduled this for Thursday as well. The place doing the fenders is a reputable high performace shop. Does this sound normal? Has anyone had problems with this?

Yea, even with proper back spacing and beating the hell out of the inner quarter some have to roll the fender so the lip doesnt slash the tire. -- 2002 Navy Blue Metallic Trans-Am, 6 Speed, Leather, T-tops. If you have a t/a you should not need to roll if you got the correct offset rims? Maros Yes! Mine fit fine w/no mods...
btw-I can smoke my 315's all I want with my stock ls1....fwiw --

Thanks for your help on the fenders! I had them rolled anyway but you were right, It wasnt required. I sent the car in on Friday to have some more work done. They are installing a new spec three clutch and plate and rebuilding the rear end. I am going with a 390 gear with the M6. I heard the 390 was stronger than the 410 gear. I am still running the stock rearend. Since it is a convertible I am adding bilstein shocks only and not screwing with the springs. Any help or advice with this I would welcome.... be very careful at the track. the 10 bolt is fragile
a spec3 is a good choice, but spending the cash on a rearend rebuild and gears might have been better saved for a 9" or a 12 bolt --

They are not doing the gears until Weds, I can still just replace the whole rear end if it is the wise choice. I'm sure the replacement is only what 1000-2000 more? What rear end is a better choice for a Manual 6 speed?

Look into a Mosier 9 inch. Putting any money into the 10 bolt is somewhat of a waste. It will break down the road, especially with a 6 speed. You can have a complete bolt in axle ready to go for $2000-$2500. --
