Well my car is sitting with a blow rear this winter and i'm saving up to put a 12 bolt in it for spring. I was just wondering what kind of improvement should I expect with a 12 bolt and slicks over a 10 bolt on street tires. My best run was 12.84 @ 110 with a 2.06 60 ft. Also i'm thinking about maybe putting a cam in it as well and just wondering what all i need to buy to go with the cam. My car is roughly has around 45 - 50k miles. Thanks. -- 02 Black Z28 A4

When adding a 12 bolt or 9" your adding static weight and rotating weight. You will also need to upgrade the DS to either a 3" steel or 3.5" alumnium, which btw are similar weight.
Your going to loose about 8-12 hp off the top and with the extra weight you will go slower if you dont improve on the 60 foot.
Dont get discouraged, this is enabling you to have a rear that will survive a 5k cluch dump.
Adding a converter will help, with a set of sticky tires is a must.
Adding a cam will improve the car as well, one of the best mods to do.
if you do a cam you need.....
Valve springs
Pushrods
Cam
Gasket
Fluids
Tune
You should also do a
Underdrive pulley
THrottle body
