i just bought a 2001 Firehawk with 69k miles. when i bought it the oil as about 1.5 quarts over full. the oil pressure gauge would range from 55-75 anytime the engine was running. so i changed the oil, put in 5w-30 mobil 1. its right at full now using 6 quarts, but the oil pressure is still around 60psi. i dont have a check engine light so no codes. im thinking maybe the oil pressure sending unit is going out? or maybe because it is an SLP Firehawk it has a different/stronger oil pump?
im stumped --

My 2000 WS6 was always at or above 40 PSI hot ro cold. I say the more the marrier, im sure some one wil chime in with an answer. Try doing a search? At least its not too low!

Check this link out about oil pressure in LS1's.
Some are saying its impropper voltage I.E. the sending unit.
If you can take it to a mechanic they could hook up a master (mechanical) gauge right under the hood and tell you exactly what it is. --

My gauge hits 80 on the throttle, and I idle over 40. Oil level doesn't effect pressure...unless you're empty.
