All Guages Peg Upon Starting

Posted By: 99Sherrill On: 01-04-2008 @ 18:07:14         Reply | Edit
90 percent of the time when I start my 99 LS1 all guages, speedometer, rpm, temp, etc. go to the right as far as they can go. It also resets the trip meter to zero. It does not matter how long the car has been off. They stay there for only about two seconds. Anybody got a clue whats going on?

The voltage is collapsing. Mine did that for a while, too - right before the battery died.

Thanks for the info, that is cheap enough to try and it is the factory battery... I'm surprised I've got this many years out of it anyway.

Mine does it too because I have a couple bad batteries (had some parasitic loss from some wiring I screwed up, deep cycled both batteries for a while).
