02 TA headlights Posted By: The1CounT On: 01-02-2008 @ 16:19:33 Reply | Edit I have read about the fix for the nylon gear in the headlight motor but no one has mentioned why the headlights pop up when you turn on the running lights only. Is that just some weird side effect from the stripped gear? It seems odd that it would cause this to happen. Of course it is GM after all. I am probably going to get the brass gears, seems a lot cheaper than an over priced motor that will end up with the same problem. I noticed mine has done this and I started wondering if that is the main cause for the gear stripping? I read that there are metal tabs that need to be bent back in place to hold the housings together. Does anyone know of a perminant fix to stop this from happening again?
