need some motivation...

Hey all. Like the subject states, I'm suffering from a severe lack of motivation in getting the 00 WS6 I bought in April road-ready. I bought it on ebay, (please save the buyer-beware comments) and although the buyer repeatedly described the car as "mint", it wasn't even close to pristine condition when I received it. It's not like it isn't a very nice low-mileage M6 WS6 or anything, it's just that it needs alot of paint reconditioning, as well as the radiator that was in it giving up the ghost the first time I drove it. (This was due to a piss-poor patch job performed when his supposedly "awesome" mechanic installed the s/c'er) I have the new radiator, but it is just sitting next to the car gathering dust. I also have bolt-in sfc's, an SLP airlid (which I'm not even sure will work w/the blower intake tubing, and a SLP Y-pipe that I'm not sure will even work w/the Edelbrock headers. Not to mention the days' worth of paint reconditoning I've got ahead of me. I wish there was someone from this site near me so they could come over and kick-start my ass into gear to get going on this thing... (Hint, hint..) -- Patriot Red '94 T/A GT M6 T-Top, Powerdyne S/C(6psi), 30#SVO injectors w/adjust.FPR, MSD 6AL, PCMforless, TR6 plugs, Tayor 8mm's, SLP 1.75" coated headers, 3"Hi-flow cat, Hooker Super-Comp.catback w/4" chrome tips, Hurst Billet-Pro+, 17x9.5 chrome ZR-1's, Weld-in SFC's, KYB AGX shocks, SLP STB, BMR boxed LCA's, BMR Pan.rod, Powerstop drilled rotors, 24mm rear swaybar, poly bushings.

"If you don't hurry up, Harlan will come over and "help you"." - 95, like you said, that should be enough motivation right there. J/K Harlan. lol.
"...dont look at me for motivation, my car has been sitting for almost two years." - Very inspirational Pongo!
TransAm64, thanks for the verbal beating. I needed that. : )
So, are there any members in the SW WI. area that would want to help me out in trade for lots of good local beer?

Per my new policy, I'm going to ignore that ramair. And to TA64, I'm right in the middle of a divorce myself. That's part of the problem w/having to drive an hr. round trip every other day to see my baby girl. The new girlfriend isn't helping either...

Update: Car is on the road!!!
Sort of.
I worked over 18 hrs. just getting the paint back into acceptable condition. Then there was the new radiator install, STB, SFC's, and Panhard rod. Decided to blow a wad while I was @ it, and get the exhaust rebuilt from the headers back and get rid of all that cobbled sh*t that was hurting performance way more that it ever helped.
Car was running great before I picked it up from the exhaust shop (outside of the original owner 's exhaust setup being a joke). I was seeing nearly 5psi on the boost gauge and definately feeling it as well. After I picked it up from the shop, I loved the new smoother tone and deep rumble. I Did NOT, however, love the fact that my S/C was no longer making boost!! I had suspected that it would be needing a rebuild sooner than later, due to the fact that it had always made less than optimal noise(s) @ idle. (And after all, it is a Powerdyne!) Thought it was a little coincidental that the blower just happened to be dead after the car was in the shop for 2 days, but oh well. The "good" news is I have a rebuild kit w/a replacement (internal) Kevlar impeller belt, and a brand new set of bearings. The bad news is I'm in for a pile of work and some extended down time while I tear out the head unit, rebuild it, and reinstall it. I swear, these cars can really make you work for your fun! Thanks again to everybody for the words of encouragement and the prodding to get me off my azz!

Update:
Pulled off the S/C head and found that the Kevlar drive belt had disintigrated due to the drive shaft bearing(s) seizing. Have decided to go back to N/A until I figure out if I want to rebuild/reinstall the S/C'er. Does anyone know if the IAT sensor bung needs to be mounted in front of, or behind the MAF? Thanks.

Crap. I knew I should have waited for a 2nd opinion. I drilled the bung for the AIT sensor in a piece of hard plastic pipe AHEAD of the MAF. So now I suppose the car won't run properly? I wasn't able to start it last night due to the local retard that works @ the parts store giving me the wrong serpentine belt. What's the worst that can happen? I'm not so sure that I can make it work behind the MAF since I had to hand fabricate the entire intake tract after the airlid.

I MAY stand corrected, I am thinking about my old LT1, looking at the pic its right infront of the MAF, next to the MAF sensor wire. -- 2002 Navy Blue Metallic Trans-Am, 6 Speed, Leather, T-tops. SLP Flow Pack, M/T Street Radials, Free Mods, otherwise stock. Moser 12-bolt and BMR Suspension

Sorry, Y-pipe is on the car, but the issues keep piling up. My 1st fbody off of ebay was about a 12 out of a 10. Anyone that was here and saw pics of it would likely tell you it was beyond immaculate. So naturally, I just never suspected anyone would have the cajones to bullshit about a car being "absoultely mint" like this old bastard I bought the '00 from did. It's still a nice car, don't get me wrong, it's just the driver's side p.w. motor went out, the tranny doesn't like going into 1st from a dead stop, and it HATES going into reverse at all. Add onto that the fact that I've had to replace the radiator right before the supercharger puked out and it starts to get a little rediculous IMO.
Regarding that "Get Laid" comment from blackcamaro, for me nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm an older guy (35) and when I had my '94 (smokin' hot, ultra low-mileage rare-color T/A GT) and even when I cruise in this black WS6 w/the chrome ZO6's I rarely ever get attention from girls around here where I live. And no, I'm not what most chicks would call ugly either. It just seems like in this part of the country, most women, even the "hotties", just don't seem to know about or care for American Muscle. Go figure. I own my car because I love it and get off on the power and incredible looks myself. I've never had really any luck impressing women w/either of my fbodys. Maybe it sounds strange but it's true.

you actually need motivation to fix your car to drive it? thats horrible, I would kill to have your car, you wouldnt be able to keep me off the thing, but i just dont have the money to get one so thats not gonna happen. but seriously, thats kinda rubbing it in the faces of the people who cant get one by being lazy and letting it sit in the garage

Being lazy. That's funny. Try having a full-time + endless o.t. job 45 min. from your house, being seperated from a wife from hell while giving up 1/3 of your paycheck for child support so she can continue to live w/your evil mother-in-law rent free. Then add in totaling your daily driver and then 1 wk. later hitting a deer w/your rental car. Let us not forget the girlfriend you thought you were madly in love w/until you find out she makes Norman Bates from the movie "Pyscho" look quite sane. On top of that the wife and her prick attorney are constantly calling me to see if I've listed my house for sale (that she's never made even a partial mortgage payment on) because they insist it's worth 10-14k more than I will ever get for it. And then you have to factor in my elderly parents that have been back from Texas all summer and have semi-permanently moved in w/me until this fall. And I still feel like I'm forgetting something... Oh, yeah and the car you would "kill to have" just keeps coming up w/more things for you to fix that you have no time or money for. Making it far rarer for you to actually drive and enjoy it then to be in, around, and underneath it. I apologize for jumping/dumping on you but I think you may have jumped the gun a little bit w/your latent reply. My original post is over a month old now, and all the things I was talking about are long done. Try going back and reading this entire thread including my more recent "update posts" to see some of the other fun things to work on that have reared their ugly heads since the beginning of this thread. By the way, I would gladly sell you this car (once I find the time and the $ to work out the latest bugs)for a real decent price, since you seem to be dying to own one. Start checking out loans and saving your $ and make it happen.

Let me make it easy, I am 11 yrs older than you so I been down all those roads and some you have never seen
LIFE SUCKS most of the time but you have to keep your head up and keep moving on, the world is a shi*y place but you have to make the best of each and every day because you just never know when the ride will end!!! @ 46 I am already seeing people I know pass on one way or the other, just try to make the best of it if you can and sometimes a cold beer, martini, daiquiri, margarita, or whatever, will get you thru. And has far as women: "can't live with them, can't live with them, period

Cajun, although your words of affirmation are a little depressing, they are word of truth. Especially the quote @ the end. Thanks for empathizing. I was not looking for any sympathy, just venting a bit. I will hang in there and thanks again. By the way your 'vert 'Hawk rips!
