I have a 98 camaro I was thinking on removing the egr valve and cap off the egr tubes on the headers and disconnect the air pump, will this gain any horse power. Also a friend of mine has a ls6 intake I was planning on buying it from him and putting it on, but this intake dosn't have a egr air tube that goes into the intake. This intake is from a 2003 corvette. I was told by putting this intake on I can gain 10-15 hp . Would this be wise to put this intake on. -- ima://Documents%20and%20Settings/MOM/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/Picture%20or%20Video/Picture%20or%20Video%20202.jpg [ Edited on 06/18/2007 @ 23:05:01 ]

EGR removal is over-rated. You might pick up
1-2 HP, but that's a stretch. The EGR circuit
closes during wide open conditions.
Unless you have a cam with some decent overlap,
you will likely do more harm from removing the
EGR circuit. The exhaust gas is actually used
to cool combustion during cruise and light
engine load. Without EGR, the engine may run
hotter.
