Replacing stock stereo system

Posted By: cochran191 On: 01-03-2008 @ 17:03:27         Reply | Edit
I want to replace my entire stock stereo from the tape player, all speakers, and the amp. Anybody know what size speakers are in the doors and the back and what brand do you guys recommend. What about a small sub box for the trunk? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I think I'm going to go with Sony all the way around including a new CD player that I can plug my Ipod directly into. I think I might also put a bass tube in the back instead of subs to save some space.

i replaced mine with a sub in a custom box that fit right into the left side hole in the trunk still have room for the t-tops. They eliminated the rear speakers and put coaxes in the rear seat area only problem they put the amp right behind the back seat above the fuel tank. Can't use the little flapper to hide the trunk any more. i heard of an amp box that attaches to the rear of the trunk but have never found one. i had Boston Acoustics put in and a Kenwood head unit with Sirius better than Cds.

Subthump makes the amp rack, I've had one in the back of mine forever:
