cold air induction on ws6

i have a ws6 2000 . recently bought cold air kit. the lid bellow and all. my question is DOES THE TRANS AM NEED THE METAL BOX ?

YOu could put it in there but with the taller opening on the ram air you really cant create a ramming effect since it isnt sealed. On regular t/a's and z28's its like 1/2" to 3/4" opening and a peice of rubber goes in its place.

Putting the sheet metal intake on shouldn't hurt it unless the stock ram air needs to have a sealed box in order to function properly. I would call up SLP and ask them what they recommend doing. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28
