Bought a used Hurst shifter today.

Picked up a used Hurst from a freind of mine today. It's not the Pro 5.0, but the model just below it. It should still work pretty well. Do I have to remove the entire center console to swap the thing out? Are there any online guides for the job? --

You'll probably want to just remove the entire lower console. It's not like it's difficult or time consuming, it only takes a minute or two. If you do that, you don't have to remove the boot, just the shift knob, you can leave the boot on. -- Black '98 Firebird Formula M6

Well I swapped it out today. Went real easy and simple. The shifter feels pretty good. I think I want a shorter stick on it though. The one that's on there now is the same length as the old stocker. Any suggestions on what stick to get? Lou's short stick? --

Yeah, I pulled the entire console out because the screws on the sides of the shifter boot were to hard to get to. It made it easier to adjust the stops as well. No biggie, it only took a couple more minutes to remove it. --

95ramair, what seats are those? How do you like them? For some reason I can't picture you putting aftermarket seats in your car, lol. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

I think it's because I always pictured you as a fast with comfort kind of guy and aftermarket seats portray more of a race feel than a comfort feel. Seeing them in your car is making me start to think... Do they weigh much less than stock seats? Are they adjustable forward and backward? Does your car have rear seats? -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

I'm coming up with a list of weight reduction mods and seats just may be on it now. I want to do alot at once so that I may actually see a tenth at the track. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28
