im hi, im sure this is posted a million times but.... does anyone know where to get a crate LS1 affordably? (turn key)
also, does/has anyone had and use a 3.8III supercharged v6? i was wondering what the power potential is of them and how redily available upgrades are for them..
long story short i have an 02 firebird and an 85 rx-7... im putting either an ls1 or the 3.8 supercharged engine in the rx7 and ditching the POS rotory all together.. honestly it is CHEAPER to put a 350 in it than another rotory.. (this pisses off the guys in the rx-7 forum by the way...)
anyway your input about the engines is appreciated.. thanks

Why not do a 6.0 out of a wreck? Here's a link to a thread in our local forum about a guy dropping a 6.0 LS1 in his RX7 if you're interested................

The 3800 can be pretty modified especially the S/C. Smaller s/c pullies, intercoolers, cams and stuff. They make a few turbo kits for them as well. There are quite a few people on clubgp.com that are deep into 12's and the few with turbos are running around 11's I think. ZZPerformance.com and Wbodystore.com some good sites for 3800 parts. Any parts you buy may need modifications since they're for w-bodys but I dont know for sure. I have a grand prix right now, but am selling it for a 98 formula or trans am, whichever I can get my hands on first. If I were you though I would just get an LS1
