New Member getting a '99 SS! Posted By: AVINGERB On: 01-01-2008 @ 17:00:14 Reply | Edit All my friends are hatin' because I'm selling my '99 Estorial Blue Metallic M3 (with 115k, but in real nice shape), but I've always wanted an SS and found a cherry collector's one in Atlanta. It's a 1999 white Camaro SS with only 15k!!! Grey leather interior. 6-speed. Has to be. I live in Lexington, SC and will be driving to Atlanta tomorrow to pick up the car. I am so excited. I'm only 24, but before the M3 I had a 2000 Dakota R/T with the 5.9L. I had a ton of money in the motor/exhaust/suspension and had a Vortech V2 supercharger making about 8lbs. of boost. The truck had Mopar headers into true-duals, custom X-pipe, no cats and twin Magnaflows dumped over the rear axle. I can't wait to have a V8 again. I just like my ride to be obnoxiously loud. But sweet sounding... Sorry, just ramblimng, but just looking for advice on what to do first and just some confirmation of what a nasty fast-ass vehicle I've bought! Don't know what kind of group there is here but I have previously been involved with the National Dakota R/T Club and then the BMW CCA. Done alot of drag racing and shows on the East coast. I picked up the car yesterday and just got back home today. I love it. It is like a brand new car. exterior is flawless. there is not a scratch on it. sure it won't stay that way. I think first thing on tap is gonna be a lower temp thermostat and a DiabloSport II. Looks like a custom tune down the road will be the better alternative. I guess I wanna go ahead an do the SLP lid and a K&N filter. maybe the smooth bellow thing. are the MAF sensors worth it? Think I'm gonna go with the SLP Loud Mouth II exhaust. Hotchkis suspension. Eventually I wanna put the NX direct port nitrous system in. Aftermarket MAFS aren't worth what you pay. The same thing can be acomplished with good tuning.
