Clutch gone?

After racing a mustang from a few lights today, my clutch pedal is stuck near the floor. I read through a few old posts to see if anyone addressed this, but most just said "stuck on the floor". I am actually still able to shift, sometimes with difficulty, with the inch or two of travel I have left. Does it sound like I need a new clutch, or is something stuck? I guess I'll start researching now what I should upgrade to. -- 2001 Black Trans Am WS6

Looks like Textralia's site is under construction. Anyone know a phone number or email so I can chat with someone there? I also haven't found many places that carry them. Know any? -- 2001 Black Trans Am WS6

Most likely it is the restriction in the line from you slave cylinder. I bet this only happens under heavy acceleration. Check out the "drill mod" at installuniversity.com. -- 2000 WS6 M6, Volant Cold Air, SLP Y-pipe and LM cat back, SLP subframe connectors, BMR panhard relocator,UMI LCA, UMI Adj. upper and lower a-arms, B&G lowering springs, ported and polished throttle body.

Be careful!
I had mine stuck to the floor, and the dealer said the clutch was bad. One month later, with a new clutch, it happened again. Turns out the clutch cylinder was jamming. Doodle with the cylinders/linkage before you let anyone sell you a new clutch. -- Cybr

Thanks guys! This is exactly the problem. I pulled the clutch back up this morning and everything is working again. I guess when I stomp on it hard from racing, it locks up. So until I'm ready to replace everything, I'll just do the drill mod. -- 2001 Black Trans Am WS6

I would look into an ls7 clutch and updated hydraulics when you do it. -- "No way dude...i saw an LS1 fight godzilla and the LS1 beat godzilla and it looked in the air and was like what do you think of that god? And god was like bring it bitch, so they fought and the LS1 beat god and now the LS1 is god because its the greatest thing ever"
what I once thought was, is now no more.

If I replace the clutch, I might as well upgrade everything. There would then be no need to perform the drill mod at all, right? Since my clutch is currently performing fine, aside from the problem created by the factory orifice, I think I should just wait and get more use from what I already have. So the drill mod might be best at this time, and I can use the money for suspension components, vice a new clutch. -- 2001 Black Trans Am WS6

It has been 2 years since I first had this problem, but for the most part it went away. Over the last few months, it has gotten exponentially worse. Basically I would have to pump the clutch pedal, getting stuck each time, about 5 times or so before it would even have any resistance for me to actually engage the clutch and shift.
I finally ordered a new master cylinder, since this problem seemed more more than a random issue caused by that line restriction. Thanks to everyone who responded with advice. I bought the slave and LS7 clutch just in case, so I'll hang on to them until the clutch is gone.
I have noticed though, that the clutch engages/disengages with much less pedal travel. Is this how it should be or is it a result of the drill mod? -- 2001 Black Trans Am WS6

Mine did it for a long time too, when I finally got around to getting the clutch replaced, the slave came out in pieces. --
