New Times

Posted By: RedScreaminMachine On: 01-04-2008 @ 08:00:22         Reply | Edit
Well, the last couple times I went to the track, I couldn't launch for crap. Nothing under a 2.05 60'. I bogged every run launching around 3000-3500 rpm and missed a shift opn most of my runs. Yesterday I went back up to Lebanon and was determined to get the launching down and hopefully better shifting. It was in the high 70's to high 80's for temps so I wasn't expecting a new best, but I wanted to get my times consistently down.

I made 2 runs missing shifts and then figured out how to not miss 3rd. Didn' miss another one all day. I launched the car hard all day from 4500-5000 rpm and my worst 60' was a 1.94. Most of my runs I ran 1.8's with a new best of a 1.800. I ran a 12.35, 12.200, 12.24, 12.24 and a new best of a 12.11 @ 115.5mph. My best run I got a 1.82 60' and a new best 1/8 mile of a 7.84 @ 91 mph. The temps kept my trap speed down (my best was a 116 mph with most of the runs being 115mph.

I really think that this year I'll get my 11 second run...assuming that my rear holds up, lol.

Also, my dad got a new best at lebanon with his 2004 GTO. It's all stock except for the shifter and today he ran a 13.99 @ 101mph. His best ever is a 13.7 @ 104 mph, but that was a cool day at Atco.

Over all it was a very good day!

I usually run 115-116 mph, so you definitely have the mph for an 11 sec run. So far my 10 bolt has been nice to me, but I have an auto car instead of a manual like yours. Hope to see you join the club of 11 seconders soon!
