More mods coming next week!

Posted By: kingandrew On: 01-03-2008 @ 13:19:14         Reply | Edit
I'm having my moser 12-bolt with 4.10 gears installed as well as SFC's, nitto drag radials on the rear and eagle GF-C's in the front, TR 224 cam with new springs and a dyno-tune...I'm hoping for 11's in the 1/4 mi. What do you guys think?

Hey, did the mods. I haven't run it at the track yet, but it sure does feel nice. It rumbles a lot at idle. My dyno sheet says that I'm putting 364.4 to the wheels. 11's? We'll see by this Friday.

Good numbers. The 12 bolt and the gears eat up more power compared to a stock rear fbody too. I hope you can hit your times good luck.

Rememebr his car has 170k on it, has 4:10's and a 12 bolt. Those would all suck power right?

Either way with DR's, 12 bolt, and an M6 you should be having some FUN!

No he is pretty much right on. 390+ with a 224 cam and stock heads is really a rare thing. It has been done but it is hardly the norm. People with 224 cams usually put down anywhere from 330-390 but mostly 360-380 rwhp. If he had a stock 10 bolt and gears he would have probably put down at least 10 more rwhp. Remember though, the only thing that really matters and shows an improvement are track times.

Innovator he is definitely right on. (ESPECIALLY with a 12 bolt). The TR 224 is only a small-mid sized cam, with full bolt ons the highest youll usually see out of them is 390-395 (and thats not NEARLY the norm, those are usually very strong running or freakishly powerful cars). As an example (just on this site):

Pongo put down 367 with that cam and full bolt ons (stock rear).

BadeSSt put down 387 with full bolt ons and a stock rear.

2001ss350 put down 364 with full bolt ons and stock rear (his car dynod unually low for the times he was running though!).

All of my friends who have done that cam have averaged 365-380 with it. And with the 10-20RWHP loss of a heavy-asss 12 bolt, Id say hes right in line.

His bolt ons will play a huge factor in that as well (LS6 intake, Ported TB, catback, Off-road Y, etc.). Not sure what other mods he may have that arent listed.

Needless to say, I was thouroughly dissapointed with my track times. I made four passes last friday night. The first 3 were all 13.09 seconds at 109 mph (at least I know I can be consistent) The fourth was a 13.2 at 108...only because I did my burnout differently and I have not mastered the burnout technique. I think I'm going to go ahead and invest in a line lock kit.

I have to say I'm dissapointed in my track times because I put 5k worth of stuff in my car this past month and I only knocked out .3 seconds off my original 1/4 mi time.

If you want to see videos I'd be glad to email them to someone to post on here. I'm currently not able to upload them based on my internet connection.

5 grand invested and only a 13 flat!

something obviously isnt right, wether it be the MAF (you can get another stock one for practically nothing) or not tuned correclty, your mph is VERY low for a cam'd 6 spd car... even if you have 200k miles

Also, remember that my cam is mild one, and the only intake mod i have is the SLP CAI. We'll see what happens once I replace the rest of the intake. Thanks
