Yeah, I found that while cruising eBay for a drive shaft loop. (Found one and now I wait...)

Adam, when the DS loop comes in I'll finally take that driveshat outta your garage. =)

BTW, Mike (BigDog) and his wifey want to party with us this weekend, He gets of work at midnight... This means Josh would have only fell in the bush once by the time they show up. =)

its ok. you guys wouldnt have near as much fun if i wasnt around.

and josh i got something funny that the import guy i am arguing with said- as we are arguing he is like "so you are telling me that people pay all these enormous amounts of money to go faster and hardly get any faster." and i was like "uh yeah" and he goes "no way! thats stupid" and then i say "well if you dont believe me i will take you to the parking garage and show you 100 cars that prove me right" i am done arguing with him. when he starts to lose he starts getting sarcastic and cynical and reverts to pulling "facts" out of his ass. it is funny to get him all worked up about something and prove him wrong (i have done so on numerous occasions MUHAHA!!). he is in Aerospace btw, that is why i talk to him so much.

Yes, moving to LA. I need to go somewhere warm and cozy. I really want to learn how to surf. Plus, there are many aftermarket car part companies in the area.

I am just waiting to get my divorce finalized and save some more cash. Once I line up a job and a place to live out there, I am loading up the Formula and heading out.

This means you and Lori have to visit in LA. You will love it.

BTW, the LA County Coroners office is the busiest in the country. We can all take a tour.

I have the shot glass that says "I {heart} LA" waiting for you.

Hey, I got my car in town. It is sitting at my apartment and in worse shape than I left it. The funny thing is that when either door opens or closes the fuel pump engages. My front passeneger ground effect was broken off, and some paint on the nose was peeled off. Luckily the back window wasn't cut again. I have to either replace the battery or get a good charger to charge it up to start working on it. I have no clue what the guy did when he put it in my car, I just know there are connectors not hooked up, he said they won't be b/c we used a painless wiring harness and did away with all the other connectors. Well I will be working on my car everyday at my apartment after 4 when I get off to get the thing running again, so Mary can have her grandmas car to drive.

tasha - you have the transmission done already in the camaro? i know someone who can probably do it for a lot cheaper. they just did my parents 1999 Astro van. $200 + the transmission cost (ended up being $800 for one with 30 miles). if it needs to be towed, they quoted $50 from Milford to Williamsburg (dont know if you know how far apart that is... like 20 minutes. something like that).

Let me know where to meet or whatever. Is everyone still on for Fri or Sat to help change the water pump in the Talon? Let me know, later.

Man, he had an Impala SS with a LT1 396 and a ProCharger with a 12 rib belt, inter-cooler and 18 psi! OMG!

The car had 4 caliper Bear Claws too! It was just silly.

Sunday cruise-in at hooter's is cool with me. At least I'd know in advance not to fall asleep so early.
There is an awesome video of me .....well, everyone.....doing burnouts and racing back from WPAFB this summer. The Stangbangerz club, the NKYfba club and the GCFBA club all had a "race for the troops" crusie in. We donated food and luxeries, etc and went to Wright Patt museum and Quaker Steak and Lube (that place is so cool to eat at.....all kinds of car memoralbilia...and beer!). Anyway, i was the only chick doing burnouts.....totally cool. The only other videos I'm in......are seen on other sites on the internet. hehehe

All existing customers of SR&P are invited of course. Those of you who are non-customers are welcome as well as it will be a great opportunity to get some questions answered, prices quoted and to meet one of the best LT1/LS1 tuners in the area.

Activities planned include group photo shoots, possibly shooting some video and a Middletown cruise, grilling out and watching club footage on the big screen.

Please respond to this thread if you plan on attending so we can get a count and we would appreciate everyone bringing an item for the cookout.

(this was posted on the NKYfba board....so register there and respond if you are going to make it. I believe it's an all day sort of get together)

OK, everyone & EVERYONE listen up, please! This includes kev & tash so put aside your diffs for a few and give wino a min,k? I REALLY need all your opinions here so pay attention.......
Jarrod wrote this on the WF website sometime between now and yesterday and I really need help on how i should respond. READ..............

so basically you don't give a shit about anyone but your "f-body brothers" just as you always have. You decided to let things go instead of helping change them and on top of that you talked a lot of shit and when I responded to you, you had nothing to say in reply? You really had nothing to say to that reply I wrote to you? I thought you would try to be more of a leader. Since you "don't have time for this shit" Adam stay the hell off this damn website bro because you are beginning to annoy me for real. Now go on and go back to bed Adam I know you don't care, we know you don't like ricers exept Liz and Jeffs, and we know that you don't want other "crazy ricers and drivers with skull stickers on them" getting you busted when you are drinking and then driving home. Maybe if I drove an f-body and drank beer I would be cool enough for you to talk to me. I speak for others, but mainly myself, and I won't lose any sleep either I just expected differently from you and others, ALSO,I EAT POO

I know he can't spell or use punctuation(sp?) but we've known eachother since we were little kids. And he's calling out my "fbody brothers" when in fact some if not most of them are "sisters". I'm putting up these options

A. Wait til I have a good Buzz goin tonight and punk him out via internet

B. Drink another beer and forget i ever saw that post(but i keep getting reminded)

C. Take a drive and piss on his car like a REAL aclki would

D. Dick over my girlfriend constantly

A&B.

I hope you all chose A&B cause I did

I would tell him to pull up his diapers.

There are bigger things in life to think about. I mean, shit, it is only a car club. Things change. People change. This is the normal course for life.

Nothing against anyone here or there, but christ man. It is a car. and a club. Two things that we can all live with out.

Ask yourselves this - If we all owned Chevy Stepsides and they all drove p_ssy Ford Rangers would this be an issue?

Maybe this does not sound like a profound statement, but at some point friendships and the relationships built around them need to transcend the material property that clouds judgement when people disagree. (Or maybe it is the smokey haze of weed.)

I don't know.

I also think it is poor form to influence your 'friends' into doing something they really are not interested in. If everyone in the world had the same opinions then everyone would be boring. He is throwing away the oppurtunity to grow as an individual and exist in a society built on people that struggle to make their own identity. Unfortunately, Jarod is making his opinion, forcing on others -- AND then charging them ten dollars to agree with it.

I am not joining a cult.

Damn Brian......you sure do sound smart or somthin'! hehehe

Seriously Adam, he sounds really childish in that post he wrote out. He's basically mad because you enjoy your fbody bros and sis' more often then you do him. But in reality, he's asking you to diss all of us and be with him. He's mad that he wants you, but you want all of us......but asking you to be his friend and not ours. The way I look at it.....he is one person, we are many! You have way more options of hanging out with a very diverse group of fun people....or a big baby that has a fake car (albeit fast).
I say you two need to go have a beer, or 12 and discuss this, without any of us. I think we can all handle one day of our week without you.....but that's all you get! lol Maybe he can work out his girly issues, with you, or maybe not.
I don't see any of us mad that you have a couple ricer friends, do you? Hell, I hang out with stangbangerz on occasion. Are you mad at me for it?

B-

I have been pretty busy looking for employment. Nobody seems to call me back. Maybe they are all scared I am too good and may take over their company! Turkey Day was ok. The usual uneventful holiday family routine. My weekends are pretty empty, unless I get a job that requires weekends. The only day I am busy is 12/13 for the MFBA christmas party. I may try and come down again soon.

Adam- financial difficulty prevented me from coming down. (Translation: my unemployment checks ran out and I am f'in poor)

That sucks Brenda! Did you get in my car and feel my clutch friday when you were over? I lot of people did but I can't remember who. Anyway, it's toast. Only good thing is I have an interview tomorrow morning at a job where the starting pay is the same as I was making working for that nazis at UBE.
Josh W., it's also a really bad time of year to sell a car like ours. Winter is comming and you know they're not known well for snow performance. Keep putting up local ads in stores. You might get a bite there. Another thing you have to think about is the loan value of your car. That is all that most people can afford. The loan value of my old Z was only $12,000.

Sorry buddy, public forum... he has as much right to his opinion as you do to whine and cry like a bitch because nobody wants to buy your hack-job SS for 13k. I just saw the car once in bad light and I can tell you that you're going to have a hard time selling it for 13k. Its just not worth it no matter how much you want it to be. Everything he listed were legitimate problems with the car that any potential buyer should be aware of. Don't post shit in the anything goes forum and complain when you get some responses you don't like. Everyone has tried to tell you that mods don't add value to the car unless you cough up a low-12 high-11 time slip and even then probably not. Rip all the parts off the car and sell them separate and sell the car for what its worth with its low milage and you'll probably make out pretty well.

Hey josh... why dont you and brain go have some fun bashing my car together... that would be really cool. If either of you would like to go race and lose let me know b/c i would happy to do it. Otherwise why dont you both mind your own buisness. i wanst asking for how much you thought my car was worth or if you like the way it looks or anything even close. I was asking if anyone knew anyone that might be interested in buying it. If it isnt worth 13k then why is that the amount of money that brian offered me for it (mabey he just likes paying more than cars are worth). Atleast i know adam is there to offer help and advice without trying to be a dickhead.

I was minding my own business you tool, you popped up on this thread on your own. (I didn't post on the other one) I wasn't bashing your car and neither were any of the other dozen people in the other forum who've told you that the car isn't worth what you want. If everyone keeps backing out (usually a sign they're trying to be nice about telling you they don't want the car) then maybe that should tell you something. You don't want opinions then don't post asking for help on a public car forum. Then you won't hear anything you don't want to.

But if you want to race my stock formula with its whopping $200 in mods with your newer SS with thousands in mods thats cool. Not sure how that proves anything but ok.

Minding your own buisness would be not commenting there bucko. People have backed out b/c loans have fallen through or other cars havent sold so again please dont comment on what you dont know. And yea what it would prove is that my "hack-job SS " is a pretty solid fast car.

but since we are going down this road... this is almost exactly what Adam is dealing with when it comes to Jarrod and all those issues. i would have more respect for Jarrod if he would have just talked to Adam directly. really, none of what he has or had to say to Adam had anything to do with anyone else. but Jarrod, put it in a forum, truely showing his maturity level - not to mention the people who gravitate to the discussion and are not part of the arguement. besides, i hope we all trust each other enough to not "bullshit" behind each others backs. at least have the respect to talk to someone directly. if there is one thing that really gets me in a bind, then is is something like this. we are all adults here, lets act like it.

If you want to get $15,500 for the car- tear the thing completely apart and ebay it. As far as a blower and such, it may add a grand or two for the right buyer. Major mods like that scare 95% of most buyers due to the fact that it means the car has been driven hard. Who knows when the motor will let go? A blower added to a motor not specifically built for one will always have a shortened life span.

It will be hard to get a loan for the car if the asking price is more than the loan-to-value and little or no down payment.

350? 305/5spd? Stock?

Its my old car, they made 604 of them according to the book I have. 350, it came with a auto but it was converted to a T5, I have all the original parts and will probably convert it back. Other than that its stock except for the flowmaster muffler. I sold it to my cousin to get the 95 becuase I didn't know how rare the car was. Hopefully he doesn't either or he'll screw me on price.

Insurance paid $70 of my tow bill. Not all, but it's better than nothing. I am still waiting for Tracey's to tell me to go get the beast. i need my ride for tomrrow. he said the car died on the way into his garage, and he couldn't push it up over the low bump at the base of the garage. he had to call a tow truck to put my car into the garage. Hope I don't get charged for that too! lol I hate that everything is starting to go on my car now that it's 7 years old. But, I am replacing everything with better parts and it goes a lot fast now than it did when she was new. Right? lol

B-

That is what I do with the Formula. When something breaks or wears out, I replace it with better. If the motor lasts 200K miles, then that is when I will rebuild or replace it.

No reason to fix perfectly good parts for the sake of a timeslip.

Brenda, we can change your sway bar end links if the weather is nice. I got nothin but time baby! Also, those bolts rust up pretty good so they WILL break when we take them off. You'll need now bolts. Grade 9s about $1 from lowes or Ace.
And Josh, this is all I can say for WF....

Adam, btw if you want to hit 11's on stock heads, do these mods.

TR224 112 cam
LS6 intake
ASP underdrive pulley
mccleod rev lokII clutch
put a set of 4.33 gears in that 9" rear, 3.73's wont cut it
26x10.5x15 ET Drags on 15x8 weld Draglites or Prostars

I can see almost mid 11's coming out of that combination.

what do you guys think about me selling my th350 and putting a 6 speed back in my car? the more I think about it, I want to be able to drive my car when i get it done, not pull it onto a trailer and tow it to the track... I think a T56 with a 4.56 gear would be pretty sweet

I would have suggested that in the first place... trailer queens are fun if you still have a street car to play with. Even with 4.56's the 6 spd should give you enough ratio to make it streetable.

I think Adam's 9" is already loaded with 4.11's unless I heard him wrong.

it had either 3.73's or 4.11's, 4.11's would work, but anything higher than that (numerically speaking) is better. to take advantage of the new power of a bigger cam and intake, the motor needs to rev higher, i'd set the limiter to 6800 and shift at 67 to get the best times out of it.

RED RAMMER is just a nickname for the car.

I'll fix it if you are getting nervous over it.

I was told by my english teacher to do the domestic vs import paper that I had previously started. I need some help with a few questions for my paper. I need as exact answers as you can give me.....and why this is the way that it is. If you can help, great! If not, please refer me to someone who can, quickly.

1. What are the particular performance packages that come in these two types of cars......and why are they considered performance packages?

2. What are the weight ranges of each types of car.....and what is the significance for speed due to the weight of the auto?

3. What is the importance of traction, and how do you get it from each type?

4. What are the top speed ranges from each type?

These are stock performance cars. I have to write this essay for the audience that has no idea about the different variations of race cars. Can ya help me out? I pretty much know the information, but am having way to much trouble spitting out the words, and making them into good strong paragraphs. Thank you!

Wilson, have I ever tried to stop someone from buying something off you? Perhaps because a 9" is stronger than your 12 bolt. Too bad
I hear all the time about 12 bolts breaking but I've yet to hear of anyone breaking a moser 9". Even if Holly doesn't buy the 9" I'm selling her my 10 bolt and that's not original to her car either. So what exactly is your point?
Also, it was nice of that guy who made your sig to put "SS" on your wheel center caps since you're missing them

Beware though, the 9" is the strongest rear end you can put under there, but it takes alot of power to turn it. You may lose about 10RWHP.

The bright side is- you can run the stickiest slicks and launch at 6,000rpm' and it will not even flinch.

Nahh, it is not as bad as one would think.. Chevy die hards say that just to knock the Ford 9". It ain't going to rob that much power.

Besides the 12 bolt has an inch and a half more rotational mass.

B&H, I tinkered with Holly's car a bit when i got home; here is what I can tell ya....
-It almost over heated when i pulled it into the garage on the ramps; threw an SES light
- coolant is ALL over the bottom front half of the motor so will need help to find the leak. I'm going to clean it all off.
- pulled T-stat, No collant in water pump/ motor, radiator was 1/3 full
I'm going to catch some Zzzs, I'm tired. When I get up I'll boil the T-stat to see if it opens. Gonna need more green stuff too. There was no coolant on the belt; I suspect the steering was getting rough because there is coolant all over the rack. Call me on the house phone when you get up and wake me up!

Adam,

Sounds like the water pump is shot. Should be replaced because that is a common reason why Opti's fail. They have a tendancy to warp and leak out the front cover plate.
--

Posted By: shortbus On: 04-05-2005 @ 09:29:25     Reply | Top | Edit
The water pump is fine. The opti is fine.

The thermostat may need replacing.. but that is slim.

We need to replace the hoses and fill the radiator.

And we should be okay.

The first thing to fix will be the leak.

No sense in making guesses until she will hold water.

IF the water pump is bad, it will be bad because it was run low on water. The funny thing about the electric water pumps... You got to plug the weep hole.

Edit:

BTW on the SES light: These are not the droids you're looking for. =)
