Bought it yesterday, picked it up today at the dealership with 5 miles on it!
I'll be selling my 1994 Z28 now, so we had to find out how the new car stacked up against it. My brother drove my Z28 and we made a few runs. After a couple botched run trying to get the downshifting right and pick the right gear, we made a couple solid runs.
From a dig the cars were close at first, with the G8 pulling slowly ahead. By about 90 mph the G8 had a little over a car length. After 90mph the G8 starting pulling away like a bastard, with about a 4 car lead by 110-120mph.
From a 1st gear roll it was about the same result, but the G8 pulling about a car ahead until 90, where it walked away hard.
From a 65 mph roll they were close for a second and then the G8 started pulling.
Overall I was very pleased with the performance of the G8. This was all done with the traction control on. The Z28 ran a 14.3 @ 98 mph at the track so I have no trouble believing that the G8 is a 13 second car. After a few more miles it will probably pull even harder.
Later today my friend wanted to go cruising in his cammed 2002 TA. It put down 385 rwhp, but he has been having transmission problems, and it gives him trouble shifting. We think it may be master cylinder related (should be fixed shortly).
We did a dig run where he gave me the jump. He had some traction problems so I was able to jump out good, but once he got traction he came walking past pretty good.
Then we did a roll from 50 mph. He put it in 3rd gear because he was worried about kicking it sideways (the roads weren't great today). He let me punch it and when he saw my car take off, he hit it. Due to my taking the hit, it was close for a second and then he started walking hard as is expected. Both good runs! My brother will post up the videos tomorrow.
I gotta say that I'm very pleased with the performance of the G8, and I can't believe how hard it pulls up top for it's size!

So, this thing likes to scream at high speeds? The pictures aren't working for me, but I like the style of those cars. They look really good. -- 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T 3.0 DOHC 24-Valve Twin Turbo Pearl White

It really pulls hard up top. The torque management kills the power down low though. That's why people are going a 1/2 second faster with just a tune. Once I get mine tuned I want to re race my LT1 and I bet I pull it harder down low.
