1994 LT1 vs 1986 GT

My car is all stock A4 with 2.73's. My friend's car is a 1986 Mustang GT with 3.55's, Flowmaster catback, and drop in filter. Last time we raced I beat him by about 1.5-2 cars from about 0-70 mph with me having one passenger and him having none. My best 1/4 is a 14.32 @ 97 mph. His best is a 15.0 @ 91 mph. Since our last race he has removed his silencer and bumped his timing.

We lined up from a dig and I gave it the three honks. He spun a bit and I hooked real well. I walked hard from the stop and then slowly pulled away. I ended up winning by about 2 cars up to about 95 mph.

It does seem that his car is running stronger than last time seeing as how I basically got rid of 150 lbs (passenger) this time, and he got beat by about the same amount even though we took it up to higher speeds. The LT1 is still a different animal than his car as of now though. Next up are Nittos, headers, pulleys, cold air, off road h-pipe, and a Mac catback instead of the flowmasters. Then we'll race again and see what happens. That might give him enough to beat me. Only time will tell!

It could give him enough to maybe hang with ya... but I doubt it, personally. And, yeah, the LT1 is definitely a different animal. 285 horsepower from the factory vs what? 225 horsepower? The 5.0 likes to wind out, the LT1 likes to go from digs.

Yea but the foxbody cars are also much lighter to take advantage of the hp difference. We are a porky 3400-3500lbs.
