Another Win...well sort of

I was in Mt. Airy, North Carolina today and I was sitting at a stop light when a turbo bug pulled up next to me and started revving and staring at through his window. I laughed to myself cause I thought he was joking, but when the light turned green he shifted back into drive, yes it was an auto, and took off. I really didn't even try for a second. But then I realized that if I didn't catch up and pass him, he would tell all of his friends he beat a Camaro, so I speed up and by the time I hit 3rd he was about 15 lengths behind me. What is the world coming to when VW's think they can keep up with f-body's just because they are turbo?

Sadly, it would have beaten my first fbody (1984 Z28 that ran mid 16's, lol).

Good kill! And you're right, he would have bragged that he beat you if you hadn't blown him away.

LOL, maybe, but who cares? Deep down in his heart he knows the shame of thinking a VW Beetle was fast.

When I first got my passat I thought I was the king of the world cause it was turbo and could get up past 130, I was ignorant lol. When I first got my camaro, I raced an 04 audi a4 with a 1.8t and absolutely killed it lol

There are a few SRT-4 Neons that come to the track on Fridays, they think they are gods, but then they get out run by stock LS1 Camaro's or TA's and they have 30 excuses on why they would of won but just didn't that time, its pretty sad

^Usually the real reason that a well modded SRT-4 will lose to a stockish LS1 is FWD

If they didn't try to leave at 5000 RPM's maybe they would actually get some traction.

ACtually... The older bugs have potential to be really quick... they weigh nothing.

I've seen a few guys with bugs at the track and they aren't anything to get excited about, some run respectable numbers, but with the money they put into them they could be running a lot quicker in a f-body or even a mustang

Gotta remember. Sometimes it's cool to be different. Anybody and there brother can buy a fbody and go fast with cheap parts. Those old vw's are 10x harder to get fast parts for and even harder to get traction with. Hey, at least they're rwd..haha. I thought the monster garage beetle was pretty cool, ran low 10's I think. Different is cool to me, more so if it's old.
