Got romped by an 03 Cobra Posted By: PewterScreaminMach On: 05-12-2008 @ 15:35:56 Reply | Edit I was on my way to meet my brother this morning waiting to turn onto the highway when a nice looking/sounding silver Cobra went blasting by going straight. Needless to say, I pulled out of the turning lane and caught up. We were on a two lane road with few cars around, so I got up next to him and we went at it twice. The first time, I missed third (actually just hit the rev limiter) and he went flying away, the second time we went from about 35-40 with him starting a half a car back. By the 2-3 shift he was right next to me passing quickly, and by the top of third he put a solid two cars on me (he was having traction issues). We pulled over and talked and it turns out it's a 76mm Precision turbo setup with the boost turned down to about 10 +/- psi. He estimated about 500rwhp at that setting. He said he originally had a 2.2 KB making 640rwhp but that cracked the block, so this was a new motor. He first put the Turbonetics 76mm turbo on and made 800rwhp at 24 psi, but just swapped the Precision on with hopes of making more, although he hasn't dynoed it yet. It was a totally mint car and setup and even though I got smashed, it was fun as hell and he was a cool guy. I need more power, but we were both having traction issues at that speed (both Nittos, his were 315s, mine are 275s). My car is a mild H/C, 400rwhp through a 12-bolt with 4.10s, a short-geared MN12 6-speed tranny, and all the bolt-ons with some suspension work. Fun times. --
