Cobalt SS

Posted By: RS31 On: 03-17-2010 @ 12:47:21         Reply | Edit
Was on the highway yesterday when a cobalt SS got up beside me with his lady. figured i would mess with him a bit and there was a perfect stretch of open road with no cars. we both punched it at about the same time and I got a car or so on him quickly, then he reeled me in from 70 to 127ish or so. I think I am limited at 129 (so i hear) and I know I didnt hit any limit, but I know I was over 125, so we'll say it was 127ish. he must have been going about low 130's. was a pretty quick little car. Not sure what they trap, but with my mods I'd easily trap 1 to 2 mph higher than stock so that puts me in the 96ish range. Do the cobalts trap 96 to 98's?

Yeah, they trap 96-98ish. Good run! I love those cars, but I never see anyone try to put a real good tire on it.

well he has another thing coming if he thinks he can beat me again! 3" downpipe with highflow cat and u-bend delete comes tomorrow. saturday ill install it along with my colder plugs and 180* t-stat (been putting those two off for a while now). maybe i'll add another 2 mph onto my trap when that's all done. i get a $50 rebate for sending in my old cat... so that's when ill order the pulley and kick it up a few notches

Threaded in. Only issue is they commonly seize into the pipe. Since ur taking time to prep for it, go ahead and douse it in penetrating lube. Just may save you a stressful fight. Anti-seize it before putting it in ur new one.

So I'm guessing it didn't go too well since there was no update?
