Thunderbird vs Z28

Posted By: Vogel On: 03-17-2010 @ 20:47:12         Reply | Edit
My friends has a 1995 v8 thunderbird automatic, with ram air intake and straight pipes. I have a 1995 convertible z28, standard, completely stock. Who should win?

i raced a thunderbird just like that from a roll, i even let him start 5 deep and gun it before i nailed the gas when he was like half way to me in my v6 5speed, and i won, ne barely got even with me for half a second before i pulled on him...so i would say you should win...*shrug* just my experience...

Those thunderbirds are pathetic. I would STOMP one.

LMFAO. I have a 94 Thunderbird LX with the 4.6 V8. Come on, man, they are rated 205/265 hp/tq. Mine runs good, chirps them into second (but that's in the tranny, not the motor). While it runs good... it's no match for an LT1. It will be funny, though. It might do better on the curves with its IRS...

I don't think the IRS will help it. It was more of ride quality than performance in those cars. Unless he's tightened it up a Z28 shouldn'd have any problems taking it out of a turn.

Power-wise it'll be a slaughter.

You should be able to smoke him I had a 3.8 supercharged t=bird with bolt ons and sc pulley and I raced a couple v8 t-birds and I always won at least by 3 cars but I would always get beat by camaro's and trans ams thats why I bought one

When I said, "It might do better on the curves with its IRS...", I guess that did sound like I meant it would beat the Z28. I just meant that they handle good, and it would be a closer match on a twisties race than on a straight away. Also, I'm not saying it wouldn't handle better, either, lol.
