A bunch of us were out cruising and hanging out last friday night and I had the itch to get a race so my friends and I were keeping our eyes peeled. We eneded up hanging out in Wendy's parking lot and soon enough a C5 Vette pulls through looking to get a run. They wanted him to race my friend for $50, but he wanted to run for fun only, so I said I'd race him. We ended up going out onto the highway and slowed to 20mph. I honked 3 times and then we both hit it. It's been cold here lately, so even with the drag radials I went sideways and had to ease out and shirt shift into second gear. Once I was in second I easly started putting lengths on him and once I shifted into 4th gear I let off it because he was way back. We got off the highway and pulled into a parking lot and both agreed that it was a good run. He was cool and it turned out to be a stock 2001. I kind of figured it was by how hard I pulled him.

Earlier that night when we were hanging out in Wendy's, this kid we know came through with his 1995 Cobra. He hasn't driven it in a couple years, but I know it went 11.7 @ 117mph a couple years ago. I also know that he blew the motor and have no clue what's in it now. I don't even know if it's a 5-speed manual or a 3-speed auto (race trans). Anyway, later on we were all heading home and he came up on us. My friend was in front of me with his 1998 TA. That car is alot faster than mine from a dig and a little faster from a roll (383, turbo 400, slicks, etc). Well, the two of them lined up on the highway going about 20-30mph and on three honks they went at it and my friend made him look stupid. After I saw that I said what the hell and I lined up next to the mustang. We were going 50mph and on three honks we both hit it and I left him pretty hard. We got off the highway and all he said was that 4.30 gears suck on the highway. Definitely didn't seem like an 11 second car at anymore. Unless he has a 3-speed auto which would suck on the highway.

Either way, they were some fun runs that scratched an itch I had all week
