M3 Pancakes, VOL II

In the latest chapter of our story, our hero finds himself pitted against a car that is undeniably faster and decidedly more expensive, a late-model M3. Oddly enough, the car is once again black.
It was late in the evening, with dusk beginning to swirl on the horizon. I was driving on a two-lane road that comes to a stoplight at the bottom of a hill and then proceeds UP a hill, where it turns into a one-lane road. The stretch is just slightly over 1/3 of a mile.
As I coasted down the hill, the light turned green. Another car, barely visible in the fading daylight, was also stationed as the light as I began to pass him in second gear, knowing full well that I had to merge in front of him before too long.
Mu9ch to my chagrin, the driver of the other car (which I could now see was a black M3), began to accelerate before I could pass him. He was not accelerating to the full potential of his lethal automobile, but it was enough to slow my roll. Knowing full well that I was out-matched, I mashed the loud-pedal just as he did and jumped out with his nose at the end of my rear bumper (I was previously with my nose at HIS rear bumper). I imagine the loud cackle of my thundrous exhaust provided him with an earful as he tried desparately to pass me before the top of the hill.
Stupidly, I slapped the rev-limiter in second trying to get the most out of the gear and then slammed third. At this point, he was not losing any more ground. Finally, at the top of the hill, he gave up chase and backed off, leaving me the victor. I then merged calmly, slowed down, and proceeded at the speed-limit.
It was a quick run, and I was out-matched, but the guy probably couldn't drive to save his life. In any case, it felt good! --

LOL I seem to hvae really good luck with this crap. It's mostly because I think most of the Camaro guys around here never want to run so everyone always wants to see what they've got there are very few fast American cars around my area. --

Hehehe..."there are very few fast American cars around my area."
That's mostly true...All the kids around here like the "Bling" mobiles, with obnoxious Fart cans!
I get "challenged", usually every other time i drive my Z28...usually coming from behind, never "alongside".
I don't have wheels, body kit,sticker's..Nothing.
Just a little "gear" noise.
A "Hemi" charger did it yesterday, i let him go.
Too much traffic with a downhill sweeper.
Next time...
IROC2FAST4U?....You need some 30lb Accell injector's?...I have a good set, 100 bucks.
...and because your "local", i'll throw in a set of LT4 "Hotcam" springs, seats, keeper's, etc...
Let me know.

I might just be up for that. . . how much extra tuning would I need for the 30LB injectors and would it effect mileage or anything on a mostly stock car? I guess I'm kind of a noob but what would the benefit be? LOL As for the hotcam springs going in, that sounds freakin' awesome too. . . but let me know! dafrieze18@comcast.net --

its not the state, its mike. that guy finds more races around here that he should ever be able to in a month. most of the ones i find are cars much slower then me, so its not even worth it, although i did bitch slap an s2000 last night on the way back from the Gorge. --

Tuning? Do the tuning yourself. I have the S-AFC by apexi on my car. Allows me to richen and lean my 550cc injectors (stock was 360cc). I need some 650cc injectors, but that takes another type of fuel controller. -- 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T 3.0 DOHC 24-Valve Twin Turbo Pearl White

I got mine form importpoweronline.com. He's good, reliable person to buy from, and probably the cheapest around. They support my 15G's with 8.5:1 compression ratio no problem at 20 psi. -- 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T 3.0 DOHC 24-Valve Twin Turbo Pearl White
