Need some insite on 383 LT1s... Posted By: RS31 On: 03-12-2010 @ 13:18:56 Reply | Edit ok so back in high school (at least 3 years ago) there was this kid with lots of $$ and had a 94 camaro and had it bored and stroked to a 383. Pretty sure he has full exhaust and im sure he has intake... Now, i can usually judge a car's power with basic bolt on engine parts, but the instant they switch turbos, superchargers, or engine displacement, I have no clue. Any guesses on what kinda power this would make? he used to claim 400 horses. I dont think it has a cam or heads. all i know is couple other guys with cams and full bolt ons would walk away from him slowly. im supposed to race him this next weekend when i go home to visit my gf and celebrate my gf's brothers 21st (obviously not racing on the same night) --

If its just a bottom end with stock heads and valve train, if he made over 300 rwhp, id be surprised. It makes no sense. he had lots of $$ for a highschool student. and he probably didnt think it was important. he didnt do the work himself so his knowledge on his car isnt exactly great What would happen if he used nitrous? How fast is your car? i.e. track times? Mods? Stock cam heads 383 with a pretty good tune, could be around 400 BHP in theory... -- 1995 Ford Probe SE 3rd gear delete mod, leaky oil syndrome.
