I was tailgated by one on a twisty onramp from I-405 Northbound to I-5 South going home.
I slowed down around the curve just a bit because he was being an @$$hole with his buddy, dropped it into second at about 40-45, sat there for a second so he could hear it burble, and took off.
Now, I know this isn't completely fair just because I got the jump. . . but he was riiiight behind me all the way thru second and into 3rd. When I got to the middle of third, he was JUST starting to fade a bit--probably got 1/2 to 1 car on him before I (and he) shut down at about 90.
Could he not drive? I thought he'd get me. . . anyway, it looked stock and he wouldn't come up after that It was a good run.
I just don't get how I pull even with an SRT-4 and then pull this guy a bit? Wierd stuff.
Fun times in the LT1! :yay: --

I know that ramp. My old stomping grounds are near the Irvine Spectrum. Do you go to Fudruckers on Tuesdays for the hot rod meets? -- 2002 Z28

Naah, never been to Fudruckers. If I'd known there was a hot-rod meet, I'd have gone though! Where is it? --

There was an STi at the track last Friday, had at least exhaust on it, he was running 8.7 and trapping about 82 I think. I was kinda disappointed in it. He tried messing with me on the way to the track but I declined, simply because, well, I was heading to the track...to race there...lol -- -1995 Polo Green Metallic Chevrolet Camaro Z28 A4

I thought that smokedyou was talking about a place in Dallas.
Good kills with the lt1. I am sooo ready to get mine out of the garage and start messing with the 4 bangers again.
You have to be careful though last summer I was up by Renton and ran across a black STI that just flat out blew my doors off. All he would tell me is that he wasnt close to stock anymore. -- 97 Z28 built A4 K&N cold air descreened MAF and flowmaster muffler SS hood and a 98+ SS spoiler, super charger on the wish list http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/466266

Honestly, I don't care if I get beaten. It just feels good to run the car. . . after being stuck driving an Escort ZX2 for a year? This thing is SICK!
Time for some more mods so I can go LS1 hunting (yeah right, like that'll happen on my budget!!). --

hows it coming with the IROC ? It would be good to see that out on the road again.
I agree with you on getting beat or not, I know there are alot of cars out there that are alot faster than I am. It is still alot of fun to run em though -- 97 Z28 built(blown) A4 ( K&N cold air descreened MAF and flowmaster muffler SS hood and a 98+ SS spoiler, 3.73 gears http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/466266

a LT1 can pull on alot of things including a stock light STI. The HP difference is still there. Now from a dead stop thats a different story..but always feels good to open 8 cylinders top end. -- True Pillar of Fbody.Com
