2 stangs 1-1, 1st good one's w/my new camaro

Went to Albuquerque the other day, there's stang's crawling around on every street around there. I saw 2 F-Body's and 10 or more Mustang's and a variety of imports in just 1/2 a day.

1st one I had my mother & grandmother with me lol, we were headed to my Aunt's house and they wanted to ride. At a stop light with a long straightaway a newer body style silver v8 mustang with a black stripe pulls beside me. Light turn's green and we ease into it and then comes the hammer from both of us. I hang with him only to about 40ish/or bottom of 2nd gear(I can't remember what speed exactly)and he slowly pulls away when my auto has to shift and then I let off for fear of giving my grams a heartattack, we were only doing 65 or so. Ya that one wasn't much of a race but still fun especially w/my grandmother in there LOL. Damn I want a stall converter.

Later in the day I was cruising around ALONE, finally a 99ish red convertable mustang gt pulls up beside me once again, he want's to run em, I can tell. He's got a stick, light turns green and we're off, he hangs kinda close to me but I definately was pulling a bit harder, when I shift into second, he makes up little ground and by the time I got some more RPM's built up it's all over from there, we take it to about 85 and I put at least 2 cars on him. I think his shifting is what killed him, I could see him shiting away, chirping his tires when I was already in another gear pulling. His stick skills got owned by my PCM, I knodded in good fun and we both turned opposite directions at next light, hehe it was fun. I was proud of my ride.

I used to own a 96 stanf convertable too and it seemed fast, but damn I didn't know I'd walk one this bad, I must be used to my car. Seems like your vehicles loose the power you 1st felt over time as you get used to them, imo anyways...

I feel I have my limits when it comes to racing on the street and would try not to take it to extremes by any means. I can't see myself doing 100 down a city street, waay too scary. I just can't afford the ticket, insurance rates or worst case scenario, hurting the innocent just so you know.

Imo prob should have killed the 99 stang and stuck with the newer body style .

But not to bad . althought the newer ones are pretty quick compared to older. nice races

good to see another stang owner switch over to an Fbody. Where in Albq were you running at? When I lived there, the place to run on weekends was over by the Target I cant remember which street that was, it was in the NE part if that helps. Good kill by the way
