1993 Trans Am vs. SRT-4

Posted By: RedScreaminMachine On: 03-16-2010 @ 01:03:00         Reply | Edit
Finally after months of boredom, I got a race worth posting

BSM and I took my Trans Am out to meet a couple friends and hang out. When we got there we found out that they had borrowed a friend's stock Neon SRT-4. Now, both of these guys have very fast notchback mustangs (high 10's to mid 11's) so they knew that a stock SRT-4 isn't overly fast. Well after we got there we started some friendly trash talking and knew there would be a race on the way home.

We ended up racing twice. The race from a dig doesn't really count because after I gave him the jump he missed a shift when the shifter all came off of the shifter, lol.

The first race though, started at about 30 mph. We paced each other and I hit the horn 3 times. On the third honk we both hit it and it was even for a second and then I started pulling. We raced until about 110 mph (at least that's how fast I was going). At the end of the race I had about 6 cars on him. It was a fun race and definitally just what I needed in the dead of winter. Good race to start the year with

Well, just so you know it doesnt take much to make them fast... A buddy who i personally know in the MASS area runs 11.7's with a stage 3 mopar turbo upgrade, upgraded injectors, and sensors. With a home made CAI that scoops from fog light, short throw shifter, good clutch and M&H slicks.... he also has a intercooler spray but its clogged.

I am still heavily considering them, if I can find a blue one, its all mine!

Yea, I havent been in the T/A for a while and it really moves out nice. I guess I get used to my Hyundai or even the Camaro. You kinda forget, but when you sit your butt down in it, it all comes back!

The Cobalt is faster than the T/A cause it has a big wing. Period.
