at the races tonight. good shit Posted By: frosti108 On: 03-21-2010 @ 06:23:10 Reply | Edit i went down to philly tonight to see some street races. and damn this was the biggest night down there that ive seen for months. there was a modded c5 z06 vs. CIVIC. whats the catch? the civic wasnt exactly street legal lol it had huge slicks popping out the front wheel wells a few inches each side and sounded like it belongs in the nhra. but anyway i was talkin to one of the kids friends and he was telling me how its ran in the 10s. so they do some nasty burnouts and the civic fukks up a few times but then they actually race and damn was it close. the vette got a bit of a holeshot and kept the civics nose about at its door most of the time. was an awesome race. and i got it on videooooo 
there was also lots of other good shit down there that i got on video... there was a THIRD GEN camaro with a GIRL driving and she went off against a seemingly stock lt1 camaro and the girl smoked him while he just sat there and spun

Ive only seen him run on one night though. The first couple runs were 11's and 12's while playing with the throttle..lol. Then he pulled a 9 second run but they had to work on that thing and push it away from the starting line a couple of times.-- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L 3.73's 
One of these days I will buy a 4th gen and NOT run the miles up on it  Like they say, 3rd time's a charm.

There are people and cars everywhere, not a lot of room to race either. That wouldn't be my cup of tea racing like that. A while back, my buddy and I would frequent this local spot in his 98 TA..It was a full bolt on car that went mid 12s on motor. The first 2 weeks we went out, we just watched and scoped things out. The 3rd week we went out, ran a few cars...Won a couple races, lost a couple races. For some reason, everyone thought he was spraying when he wasn't  So we pop the hood/hatch and let everyone look, and to their dismay they find no bottle.
So next week, we go back out..People knew who we were now and how fast we were, except...During that week, we threw 150shot on the car and didn't bother to tell anyone. Well that night, some little wankster was talking all sorts of shit about his his heads/cam/n20 GT. It was a 99-03 GT. So we tell him to put his money where his mouth is and line em up...We throw 250 down on the race, he does the same. He kept laughing and being a cocky bastard even after we threw down the cash because he saw the TA run the previous week and thought he could kill it. So they line up, both cars are on ET Streets..My buddies TA was still on the stock 10 bolt, so he didn't spray out of the hole, but the GT did and damn near lifted the wheels...Obviously the GT gets the hole shot, my buddy bangs 2nd gear and sprays and just pulls on the GT like no other, 3rd gear and it was all over he was about 4 cars in front of the GT. So they get back to where we all are, and the guy in the Mustang is all pissed off saying how the TA didn't have spray last week, yet it does this week and why we diddn't tell him etc..My buddy says to him, "you never asked, so why the fuck would I tell you, and even if you had asked, I still wouldn't of told you because you're a pussy and would of bitched out" Well this didn't go over too well, and basically we left right after that because we were getting shot at.
