Fun time at Atco yesterday!

I made it down to Atco yesterday for a few runs. Overall it was a good day. There were a few crashes and a couple people leaked fluid on the track, but they have a good crew down there and they got everything running again pretty quickly.
I made 4 passes which weren't too bad.
My first pass was a 12.62 @ 113.7 mph with a 1.92 60'.
Second pass I totally missed 3rd gear. I never got it back into gear and I ran a 14.9 @ 76 mph. LOL. I found out before the next round that I had a problem with my shifter and a friend was able to get it all straightened out for me.
Third pass I bobbled 3rd gear. Not a total miss, but it didn't go in smoothly. I ran a 12.80 @ 112.9 mph. 1.96 60'.
My last run, I wasn't even supposed to get, but I snuck back in for one more.
I had my best run to date. I got a 12.51 @ 114.2 mph. I got a 1.82 60', also my best ever.
I know the car has more in it, and I didn't even power shift. I was very happy for my first time back to the track with the new mods.
My dad brought his 2004 GTO. His best run previously was a 14.09 @ 97mph. He ran a new best yesterday of a 13.72 @ 104.3 mph with a 2.14 60'. He was very happy about it since he was just hoping to break into the 13's.
There were quite a few cool cars down there.
Firehawk with a 402, 535 rwhp, ran an 11.1 @ 127 mph on slicks.
WS6 LS1, bolt-ons, cam, 150 shot ran 11.6 @ 128 mph on Nittos.
Twin Turbo LS1 Vette, not sure on the build of the motor, ran a 10.5 @ 128 mph.
2004 GTO, built motor, rear mount turbo, nitrous, ran a 10.3 and earlier in the week ran a 9.8. I think the car is going to be in High Performance Pontiac in an upcoming issue.
Also, a late 1990' GTP with a turbo kit ran a 12.7 @ 107 mph.
Also, I hung out with a couple of the guys that work at QTP. Cool guys, and very knowledgeable about LS1's. Thanks to Tom for the help with the shifter and all the advice on setting up my combination.
Overall it was a very fun day. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

Yeah, it was, I just wish I lived closer. I'm coming from CT. We got there pretty fast (3 hrs. 5 min.), and it sucked coming home since we got stuck in a couple traffic jams (4 hrs. 45 min.)...eww. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

honestly i wish they wouldnt drive at all, they only clog up the staging lanes with FWD cars that leave water all over the track for the rwd cars to loose traction in. -- "No way dude...i saw an LS1 fight godzilla and the LS1 beat godzilla and it looked in the air and was like what do you think of that god? damn, are there any closer tracks?
some of the fwd cars are fast though, you cant deny it. most of them have done as much, if not more work than the people with rwd cars, so even if they power the wrong wheels, they still deserve to be allowed to run imo. --

The closest track for me and RSM is Lebenon Valley Dragway in West Lebenon NY, its about 40mi south of albany. Its like an 1.5-2.25 hour drive.
When we go to atco next time I suggest staying over a night, that return traffic through NYC sucks ass. -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!

LOL, I guarantee that there are a ton of people on here that have gone more than me, but I think some people don't bother posting every time.
As for the FWD cars, they have just as much right to run as everyone else, as long as they are following the rules. There was a turbocharged Acura Integra there running 11.8 on slicks. Very impressive.
Also, a 2002 anniversary Trans Am ran a 13.1 @ 105 mph. It was an automatic convertible with only a lid and cutout on stock tires. Also very impressive. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28 M6 with Hurst shifter, T-tops, Leather, 12 CD Changer Ram Air Scoop, SLP Lid, K&N Filter, Smooth Bellow, Borla Exhaust, Dynatech Long Tube Headers, High-Flow Cats, BMR Adjustable Torque Arm, BMR Rear Lower Control Arms, Nitto Drag Radials; 344 RWHP @ 5350 RPM, and 356 RWTQ @ 4650 RPM; new mods: 3.73 gears, FAST 78mm TB, SPEC 3 Clutch, Pro 5.0 Shifter; new time: 12.51 @ 114.2 mph, 1.82 60' [ Edited on 11/15/2005 @ 18:43:03 ]

I think RSM should get the award for Bravery, for taking his car to tracks alot farther away and blowin the shit out of them and coming home with out the need of a flat bed -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!

Id give a lot to be that close. Im right near BSM and RSM and used to LIVE at the track a few years back. Now I realize just how much a of a drag (play on words there) it is living 2+ hours away! I used to have the GF down near Etown (10-15 mins away) but thats all gone now! Needless to say unless its an event Im usually not looking to run!
Nice work knocking the times down, and with that mph and some more practice hello low 12s! --
