My Z28 vs Friends 05 GTO

Posted By: Z28LS1KID On: 11-20-2009 @ 03:05:25         Reply | Edit
Was out tonight cruising around with a few friends and saint. I was driving down 37 as usual and my buddy with the 05 GTO (a4) gets next me and we are doin about 50mph. I was alone, and he had a friend in the passenger seat. He honks 3 times we both nail it. We stayed even for about a second, then I started to pull pretty decently. We went up to about 75-80mph and I ended up about 1 1/2 cars ahead and would of kept pullin. He's got a really nice car. I have to say for a stock GTO weighing around 3800lbs, the LS2 is pretty impressive. Now I cant wait to get him on the track. So thats the story of my first LS1 > LS2 experience. More to come, and on video.

Good kill. I definitally wish the GTO's weighed less and had a solid rear axle. I'd absolutely love to buy one, but just can't justify getting rid of my Z28 for one. The Z just performs too well.

I hate to post a completely unrelated question but I noticed "Z28LS1KID" had a post saying you can get the coated pacesetter long tube headers for $379.99. The best price I have found is actually on ebay and it comes with the pacesetter ceramic coated long tube headers, matching y-pipe, o2 extensions, gaskets, bolts, etc... (So its the whole kit for $499.99 plus shipping. Do you know where I can find a better deal than this or possibly where I could find a y-pipe to replace my stock y-pipe that would bolt up to my stock exhaust manifolds and connect to my borla catback? I appreciate your time and help, if you can just shoot me an email to steiger99@hotmail.com, I would really appreciate any input you have. Thanks man.
