Raced my first Porsche yesterday

And it smashed me.
I was cruising back from the tack and this dude in a cavalier with aftermarket exhaust was trying to mess with me, so I finally put it in 3rd and flew by him. He got up next to me and and gave me the thumbsup, laughing.
A little later this black porsche showed up. I have no clue what it was, but it looked like a fancy Carrera or 911. I followed him for a few miles until the road opened up and then I got next to him. We were going 60mph and I put it in 2nd gear, wqhich puts me right in the meat of my powerband at the start. We both hit it and he walked away pretty good. I shifted and he just kept pulling away. I shut down around 110mph with him a few cars ahead. We got up next to him again and I gave him the thumbsup. He made a shrugging gester with his hands as if to say "what happened?" I laughed and turned around to head home.
That thing was nasty. For him to pull away from me that hard when the race started from where my best point (in my power band), I was very impressed. I saw one at the track that ran 12.4 @ 118mph and they said it was all wheel drive, but this car didn't really look like that one. I don't know what it was and since it was dark I'm not sure if I would recognize one again. If I find out I'll let you guys know. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

Well, I found the car I raced and now realize why I had no chance right from the start. It was a Porsche GT2. I'm 100% positive, after seeing a picture of the back end of one, that that's what I raced.
The stats are as follows:
3175 curb weight (my car was 3325 without me)
456 hp (I estimate mine to be 390-400 at the flywheel)
0-60 in 3.7 seconds (as fast as the new Z06!)
1/4 mile in 12.09 seconds at 119.9 mph (my best mph was a 111.3, and when I raced the Porsche my brother was in the car and I had the t-tops off).
Well, I can't say that I feel better about getting smoked, but at least I got beat by something cool. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

Nothing wrong with getting beat by that beast.
I had one porsche owner tell me years ago, the only good competition is a superbike motorcycle.
He was driving a 1999 911 Turbo also rated at 400hp back then.
