BSM, his brother, cousin and me were hanging out on the Pike tonight. A nice silver Z28 with chrome Z06 wheels pulled in. I started talking to the guy and found out it had SLP Lid with ram air, aftermarket Y-pipe, SLP cat-back, and drag radials. The car was an auto with 2.73 rear gears. I told him about my car and he asked if I wanted to run for fun. I agreed and followed him out to a long straight section of well lit two lane road. We stopped next to each other and he said the finish line would be the bridge ahead. I judged it to be a little less than a 1/4 mile away.
His GF (who was in his car with him) said go and we both hit it. He pulled me a solid 1-1/2 car lengths out of the hole. I spun a bit through first and part of second, and then started closing the distance pretty fast. I was pulling hard, but he had gained a pretty good lead. I pulled even with him just as we passed under the bridge and then blew past. We crossed under the bridge a second after I shifted into 3rd gear (a little over 100mph. Great race ending in a tie.
We lined up a second time from a 40mph roll. I put it in second and hit it right after he did. I immediately start walking away. I missed 3rd gear, but slammed it back in right back in and he didn't gain any back. I continued pulling and had at least 2 car lengths by 110mph.
We lined up one last time in the same place as the first race with the bridge being the finish line. His gf said to go and we both hit it. He got a good launch and I spun just like the first time. I went to slam second gear and missed (don't ask me how I managed to miss 2nd, pretty crappy driving on my part all night). I missed second bad and he was walking away hard. I let up knowing I couldn't catch him, with him taking the win in this race.
Over all score: 1-1-1.
He was a very cool guy and has some good plans for his car in the future. Very fun races. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

hmm I wonder if my aftermarket hurst is better then the stock ones? I used to miss alot of shifts partly because i was new to it and it was a stock shifter. I rarely miss any gears now. -- 94 Z28 M6, Cai, hooker catback, SLP fan switch, Lakewood LCA, Jegster Tq arm.

Yeah, I definitally need a new shifter. I thought my stock Hurst was real good, but after trying out some aftermarket ones, mine feels like crap. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

I call BULLSHIT, ron didnt go 1-1-1 becuase of shifting. He did that because that guy's girlfriend or daughter (couldnt tell) had gigantic CANS. Which i was quite fond of -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!
