how bad will my car run w/o tuning?

Posted By: arks On: 03-20-2010 @ 14:19:19         Reply | Edit
I just installed my LT's. I have no rear O2s right now. Obviously it is throwing a code. I hope it's just for the 02s. Anyway, how bad will my car run while throwing the code for the 02s. I'm waiting on a tune from PCMforless right now.

Shouldnt run bad at all, throwing rear o2 codes shouldnt affect anything. I rolled around with those codes for a few months before tuning

yeah..i dont think narrow band O2s really do much..i've had a hollow cat for like 2 years now and they've never even thrown a code..i think they're just for emissions..and if your MAF goes bad i think they're used to keep the car running in speed density mode..at least thats how it works for us 3.8s ..get some sims and/or that tune and that should take care of the codes and you'll be all good

The O2's after the cats don't do anything except let you know when the cat goes bad. They are for catalytic converter efficency. It's the front to that tell the computer whether the car is running rich or lean.

Instead of O2 sims, just get a PCMforless program that turns off the secondary O2's.
