Dodge HEMI Magnum

Posted By: Silver02Z28 On: 03-13-2010 @ 21:10:57         Reply | Edit
I think most of these Dodge HEMI Magnum guys beleive that commercial where the Magnum smokes the Lotus. This guy was revving me at the stoplight. I just ignored him, but when the light changed he floored it. I wasn't going to waste my gas but then I couldn't resist puting him in his place after he took off like that. I quickly reeled in the two lengths he got when he floored it from the light. In a few seconds I put a bus length on him and decided to keep in it until he was a memory. After I put about an 1/8 on him, I slowed down and he eventually caught up to me. A few lights up he rolled down his window to talk. He couldn't beleive that a Z28 smoked him like that. What are those Magnums good for, 14s or 15s?

HAHAHAH! love it. Last summer i was driving around grand rapids with a digital camera. I had a bolt on sentra with 75 shot of nitrous. I wanted so badly to get one of them magnums at a light. The look on their face when they lose to a sentra woulda been priceless! I was going to be at a light and go "hey, that thing got a hemi in it??" then smoke em

Chuck, I highly doubt a 75-shot would've allowed you to "smoke" a mid-14 second Hemi Magnum in your SE-R Spec V Type JQS TT 2.4H.

Actually Chris, I happened to have a friend who was a FANATIC about those Spec V Sentras..lol..I flamed him everyday, but I think he said they come with 175hp stock, so I'd imagine a 75 shot would more than put him into the mid 14's on a good launch.

I raced one to school a few times (40 mile one way commute). Every now and then we'd by chance meet up on the interstate back when I had the white Camaro 3.8 which had intake/exhaust. We were dead even. He had tasteful rims and exhaust from what I could tell. My heavy ass 200hp car against his much lighter 175hp car and we were pretty evenly matched with him edging me out a few times.

well i did mid 14's off the bottle... and a 12.7 on the bottle. I have a video if you need proof. I had all the bolt ons AND nitrous. not just a stock spec v. But in all fairness your right. Just because I trapped around 103mph doesnt mean I would SMOKE a magnum. From a roll it would be about how bad I beat LT1 fbodies with my ls1.

The Magnums run mid 14s? That's actually not bad. Throw in a bottle and it should see mid 13s.

I stand corrected then. I didn't know your Sentra had all the other mods. And for the 75-shot to put your car ahead another 1.5 seconds, damn that thing musta loved the juice lol. Sounds like your Sentra was one of the rare sport compacts Chuck (read: actually done right lol).

The Spec V loves forced induction. Some guy with a 90 shot put 233hp to the wheel and 317ft/tq. Not impressive numbers... but with turbo 4psi makes around 245whp and 7psi makes 275whp. One guy with 17psi made 391whp on a mustang dyno while still having tunning sputtering issues.

I got rid of it for two reasons. It was front wheel drive and I was at my limit. If i went any faster I would of needed to build the engine...Just didnt want to. On street tires mid to high 13's with nitrous, while my almost stock automatic T/A goes 13.4@106... i made the right choice :-)

According to motor trend magizine those hemi's turn 13.9 in the quarter and 5.6 seconds 0-60. I love hearing stories about a chevy beating a dodge... but i am suprized you beat him by so much cause a STOCK '02 camaro is like 5.3 seconds 0-60 and 13.6 in the quarter mile... either way its a cool story

My dad has a friend at a local Dodge dealer who sponsers him every year at Monster Mopar at Gateway Raceway. He gave him a brand new Magnum to race this year. With like 50 miles on the car it ran tons of low 14 passes deep staging. So with normal staging and a properly broken in engine ( ), I don't doubt high 13s at all.

My car is not stock. It went 12.8 before the turbo.

I love that shit! Motor trend says car A runs 13.9 and car B runs 13.5 so there is NO way car B can pull more then a car or 2 on car A. Also car A has NO chance at beating car B because according to motor trends numbers its just not possible. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD things happen that your little mag's don't tell you about. I'll inlighten you. Lack of traction, Hesatation with the driver, not every car runs the same, point proven few post down from this the ls1 2000 fbody is running almost 12 flat with a few mods. This is just a real small list of stuff that can happen in the real world. Some day when you lift your head out of MT you will learn this.
