how much does an average stock 350z weigh i know there rated at 278hp/278lbft and i was wondering what i could do from a slow roll with the L98 stock w/3.42's against one? i know i would probly lose but with almost 60lb/ft more then him i was thinkin i mite b able to get a good jump and then of course get passed because of the l98s top end> i dunno

I'd say you will hang with him for a bit and then get destroyed top end. You'd stand a better chance from a stop. Get way out in front and hope to hold him off. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

yea they weigh ~3200 and its 287 hp but N e ways yes they run with stock lt1's if driven right
a highway race the gearing is much better suited for a 350z cuz they have much closer ratio's the 1:1 on a z is in fifth, on an fbody with six speed its fourth. -- "No way dude...i saw an LS1 fight godzilla and the LS1 beat godzilla and it looked in the air and was like what do you think of that god? And god was like bring it bitch, so they fought and the LS1 beat god and now the LS1 is god because its the greatest thing ever"
what I once thought was, is now no more.

ive raced one on the highway and walked away from it SLOWLY in my lt1. i had a 100 lb girl in the car as well. i ran a 14.3 @ 96.7 at the track with my lt1. i think your L98 will lose, but get a couple mods and youll be fine --

Yeah, I heard that about the transmission ratios. Very interesting. Also, they have a pretty flat power curve. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28

I raced one on the highway and also pulled ahead slowly (in my '95 LT1 convertibile, when it was stock).
I would think on the hwy an L98 (stock) would be even or a little slower then a 350Z.
BTW, I raced two 350Z's in my LS1 and destroyed both

Yeah, they are no match for an LS1, however are very close to a stock LT1. I don't think a stock L98 has much of a chance on the highway. Might be close from a very slow roll if there was a definite finish line. -- Red 2002 Camaro Z28
