Sup guys. I know this kid with a 2004 neon srt4. He told me he has cranked the boost up to 22lbs. Is that even possible with the stock turbo? He also told me he smokes the tires at a 50 punch. How badly will this kid whoop me or do you think he is full of it. Thanks. -- 99 Camaro Z28: Flowmaster exhaust, Flowtech cutout,SLP Lid,K@N filter,

I think the stock turbo can go around 25psi, although prob not for that long. I'm not sure on that, but my brother has an eclipse with the stocker at 20psi. Just pull some vacuum lines of his and then race -- I have the fastest Sebring out there and live my life a quarter mile at a time AIM = MoNsTeRSuPrMaN

I doubt that he smokes the tires at 50mph, even if he is running 22 psi...
I say race the guy, even if he is at 22 psi, it's still a 4 banger and therefore ghey. Make him go from a dig, I hear those things are a whore to launch... --

A friend of mine has one of those things and last time we went to the track he pulled his vacume lines. He was boosting soo much that he baried his boost gauge and the fastest time he got was a 14.1 so i dont think you have much to worry about. -- 1998 Z-28 M6, Vortech SC 9PSI,after cooler,Jet Hot ceramic long tubes, borla cat-back,enkei 3 peice wheels,B&M ripper short throw, eibach lowering springs, full Hotchkis suspension, double diamond SFC,SPEC 3 clutch,480 RWHP last time i dynoed, should be more now. http://members.cardomain.com/mightymaro666 check out my car.

Those SRT-4 bottom ends can handle alot, so I dunno about the 22 psi, but they can handle it. I have a friend who is a SRT-4 freak and was telling me all about it. -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!

i raced one in my trans am w/o the headers.. and stock 273 gears.. he was running 18psi i belive..and it was an 04.. 04-05 are the faster lsd ones..stock they can run high 13's with ease at 101's.. so if hes ruinning taht much boost..prob a mid low 13 sec with traction..
but back to my story.. i would pull from a dead stop till 80-90 ish..about half a car..i just have to get the jump or i cant catch up.. -- red 95 trans am a4.. stock dyno with a k&n filter

22... HA maybe with supporting mods. most stock turbos on cars are tiny and cant spool that high. yes his bottom end will outlast his turbo's abuse on it... but not if he gets a new turbo.
i dont know much about those SRT4s but i dont think he is running 22 and even if he is... 22 on a stock turbo is about hte same as 12 psi on a bigger turbo. --

eh, dont be scared just because you hear big boost #'s. he probably has that much, but take him from a dig and show him what he's missing, torque! even with that much boost i doubt he is even in the 12's. boost is a measure of resistance, not power, so making 22lbs on a tiny motor isnt comparable to making anything near that on our cars. so its not as scary as it sounds. but it will be a close race, just get a good launch and you should be able to hold him off. -- 2000 SS M6

fsck that srt-4 and his boost controller. I hate to say it, but those cars are overrated. I put NUMEROUS buslengths on one with boltons and a 224/230 cam and a crappy tune. Have fun showing him your taillights, if he can see that far away. -- old setup: Comp Cams XE 224/230 112lsa, all the boltons.

Hey guys. I raced him a little while ago. We raced from a stop first. I got the launch and pulled pretty well on him till about 110 and shut down. Probably had maybe 3 cars on him at the end of the 1/4. We went again from a 65 punch and stayed dead even till 120. I am pretty happy with the results. Those things are quick from a higher roll, but not that impressive from a stop. Peace. -- 99 Camaro Z28: Flowmaster exhaust, Flowtech cutout,SLP Lid,K@N filter,

22 lbs of boost does not mean 22 lbs of boost! thats just the pressure inside the intake the little 4 banger pos is prolly using 3 lbs.. max shitty heads no cam no headers cats muffler oh and the monster 1/2 inch exhaust pipe wont let 22 lbs go through

good race, glad to hear you beat him. from a dig i knew you had him, but from a roll those turbo cars can get moving b/c they are already spooled up and into a good amount of boost.
you need to put skittle smasher in your sig -- 2000 SS M6

Firegod, you are stupid.
Those cars are very impressive stock. Nuff said.
The turbo can do about 22 psi and that should put him in the lower 13's area.
You do have a nice setup, so I say good kill. Keep it up

"Prolly using 3 lbs. max"
Next time reach a little farther when you pull sh it out of your a$$, hopefully you'll find your brain in there.
