<comments>Hey everyone! I was bored and Ive been meaning to post this up here for sometime now and its slipped my mind everytime. No...this is not directly about turbos or superchargers. :D :D :D

I just wanted to share with you a basic principle concerning modifications and horsepower/torque gains. Alot of people look at the Flowmaster muffler (for example) and see that it advertises giving you ,say, 10 horsepower. This simply is not the case. You end up in reality with like 5 to 7 horsepower and t</comments>

so today i snagged the snap on scanner from work and took it home with me, i plugged it in on the way and was reading sensors and such as i drove. everything seemed to be in check. fuel trim was damn near perfect at -2 to</comments>

<title>What could it Be?</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=107854</link>
<comments>I have been reading this board for a while just finally got around to making my own account, and need to ask a question about a problem my car is having. My car has always started funny and takes a good 3-7 seconds to finally start, it cranks over just fine but just doesn t work all the time its not fun when the power steering shuts off mid way through a turn.

Any ideas of what is the main cause of this? or what I can do to fix it? I think it could be the pcm or maybe something fuel related </comments>

<title>rawr...rough idle...sometimes</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=108253</link>
<comments>so sometimes the idle is a little rough, not too bad but it seems to go away after i drive for a little while or if the car warms up. no new codes...just the ones posted in my other thread lol

any ideas?

i think it may have something to do with the MAF sensor or connector...if i disconnect the connection at the abc port on the sensor the idle smooths out.

<comments>I am getting a lot back from taxes this year, and am finally thinking about parking the Camaro and slapping on the turbocharger since it won t seem to sell. Been waste of time after waste of time with iffy buyers. Fuck it. Car has 110k on it, runs perfect, maintains great oil pressure, and only uses about 3/4 of a quart of oil every 5000. If I do it, I will start off with around 4-5lbs of boost, and tune it from there.

What do you guys think?

<title>strange squeaking</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=108091</link>
<comments>Ok heres the deal the car starts and runs fine. However after a few minutes there is a light squeak coming from the power steering side it comes and goes. As time passes the squeak gets louder and longer but still shutting on and off. I m out of ideas any advice. Also I have an exhaust leak coming from the bottom of the egr valve to the header anyone know what that little gasket that mates the two flanges together is called. BTW the car is an 01 firebird automatic v6. Thanks Dan</comments>

<comments>I seem to be missing some vaccuum parts. I have photos. going to take a trip to the scrappers to figure it out and maybe take some t pass, I believe they require recipts to show what I have done to try to make it pass the second time. Its another 14 days after I fail, plus recipts.</comments>

<title>rpm s dropping really low</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=107878</link>
<comments>hey guys new to the site but definently not new to motors nor new to f bodies. this is my second 4th generattion camaro and my buddy has a firebird that i work on quite a bit.

sometimes while driving my rpm s drop really low just for a second and the battery gauge drops down to like 81/2 or 9 volts and then kicks right back up but only at idle or at low low speeds mostly when turning the wheel or putting it into reverse from drive. and my headlights and dash lights dim. any ideas? thank you</comments>

<title>Question about lifter noise</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=108104</link>
<comments>Just got my ride out about 2 weeks ago. Weather was finally decent enough! So Saturday night I get in the car, start it up, and now I got a lifter? Ticking. Started to go home and it quit after about 10 minutes.

I haven t changed the oil yet since putting it away, but oil has about 1100 miles on it.

Is seaofam a good idea? I am thinking maybe a small piece of sludge, or dirt stuck in the lifter. Anybody tried it, results?

Thanks in advance!</comments>

<comments>Well I have been using my odometer for the longest time to tell how much gas I have, but it is really becoming annoying seeing the needle always pegged to F. What can be the cause of this, and is it a exspensive fix?
