<comments>Hello and Welcome to Fbody.com, a great place for basic and in depth knowledge on most years of the Fbody platform.

Please take the time to read the FAQ thread located at the top of the page, there are some smileys and advice on how to make a signature.

Also notice there is a search feature that works great on this site, better than other F-body sites for sure.

If you have a question please make sure you post it in the correct forum, ie. can t find it with a reasonable search. Odds are, there</comments>

<title>96 T/A issues!!!</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/lt1/read.cgi?msgid=299033</link>
<comments>Hello, I have a 1996 Pontiac T/A ws6. 6speed with LT1. My car has ran perfect untill about 2 months ago. At that time, the car had a leaky waterpump and that lead to a bad distrib. I had the work done at what we thought was a reputable shop.. When I went to pick the car up, it started up and drove home fine (about 1/2 mile). The car sat in the back of my apartment for about 12 hours. I go to get in to go to work and it revs all funny bouncing between 600 and 1500 rpm. I take the car back, </comments>

Gasket bore 4.166
Gasket Thickness .026 or .041
Piston Dish CC -5

I want to keep the same tire size and wheel size all the way around, so my question is, will this rim 18x9.5 with a 56mm offset and 275/35/18 Tires fit on both the front and back with no mods? I assume these rims are made for Fbodys from OEwheels, but I dont want anything rubbing. </comments>

<title>Clutch Fork Groove?</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/lt1/read.cgi?msgid=298918</link>
<comments>Hey guys,

I replaced my clutch about 2 years ago (Spec Stage 2). When I replaced it, I noticed the clutch fork had a groove worn into it about halfway up.

What would cause this? From what I could tell, there were no moving parts in this area that could have done this...

Also, my clutch is no longer disengaging (it is constantly engaged- I can t want to spend another $500 on a clutch.

I am not a mechanic and not great with cars, so excuse me if I am doing a horrible job of explaining.

All of this started after I did a transmission swap from an automatic to a manual. In the process, I purchased a brand new spec 2 clutch and an aluminum driveshaft that I installed during the change. It was a used transmission and I installed used hydraulics at first. I have</comments>

<title>Serious Engine Question </title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/lt1/read.cgi?msgid=298929</link>
<comments>I will post the A.G. section as well.

Can you knowledgeable engine peeps answer a couple questions please?

1. How much variation if any is permissible between the bore diameters of cylinders?

2. What is the maximum, minimum and optimum clearance between piston and cylinder bore?

Engine is a 383 LT 1.

And before you guys suggest a competent engine builder, read this!

<title>Fuel Pump Question</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/lt1/read.cgi?msgid=298912</link>
<comments>Hey guys, it ve been on here.

My fuel pump went out on my 95 Z28 and I am looking to replace it with a 255 lph high pressure pump.

My question is this: will this by itself increase performance any? This is a daily driver, will the higher output fuel pump affect gas mileage at all?

Thanks,
Chris
