<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/3gen/read.cgi?msgid=73208</link>
<comments>Finally put insurance on the GTA today, and drove her around all day. Running great other than a ticking noise under load, not sure if it s the valves since I recently adjusted them, or if it is an exhaust leak from the new headers I put on over the winter. Anywho, I am so happy to have it on the road again, w00t!

<comments>I know this has been brought before. I have a 87 GTA with a L98 and a 700r4. My question is that when I go to pull out it does what to shift in to 2nd gear in till it gets to a high rpm. And it is the same for 3rd. If you hold to the floor going down the road it shifts fine. I know that the speed sensor is messed up but I didn s the cable witch way do you adjust it. Your could it be something else. Thanks </comments>

<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/3gen/read.cgi?msgid=73150</link>
<comments>well as some of you saw, i fubarbed up my door. well i went to replace the shift cable and its all hooked up and i noticed when i put it in park, the tranny knows park but the pawl doesn t set. and i also noticed that the shifter itself wont set in all the gear markings on the trim. when the tranny is in OD the shifter can move freely between OD and N. just wonderin how to fix the actual shifter so it says the right gear and how to fix the tranny so it will set in park?

Anyone know a simple way of removing them?

<title>WHEELS/RIMS question</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/3gen/read.cgi?msgid=72860</link>
<comments>I have a 1986 Camaro and I have some rims.

Measurements:
front 17x9.5 +54mm offset
rear 18x10.5 +58mm offset

Im not planning to use spacers, where as they arent safe. I would like to use spacer adapters, which bolt to the original studs and have 5 more studs sticking out=safer.

My question is what size do I need?
Is anyone running this size on a thirdgen?
How can I measure with at home tools or parts?(no engine, so I cant just go to a tire/rim store.)

<title>Rusty Header Bolts, Keep Breaking</title>

<comments>I have recently decided to change my headers, due to exhaust leaks and other such things 87 firebird V6, and have rusted so badly that in areas they have actually thinned in diameter, just rotted away.

Anyway, the bolts keep snapping when i remove them, i now need to drill and tap 3-4 bolt holes, Trying to avoid breaking more and having to do those.
Have any ideas? I cannot afford new heads and its more economic to buy a new block for 1,400. Still, too expensive.</comments>

Anyone have any tips or tricks to try? My initial thought is a faulty sensor on the throttle body. There is no check engine light, by the way.

<title>Headlight Motor</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/3gen/read.cgi?msgid=73020</link>
<comments>I just replaced the left headlight motor on my 91 TA and when you turn the headlights on the motor will run on for a few seconds, and when you turn off the headlights, it does the same thing, running on for a few seconds. How can I correct this?
Another problem is that the headlight door now sits to low in the front, it no longer is parallel with the hood. What can i do to fix that? All help will be welcome! </comments>

<title>Did they even...?</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/3gen/read.cgi?msgid=72754</link>
<comments>ok, you all know i have a 87 trans am. i know all the camaros (82-92) ran the same center console without the radio pod. AND the early birds (up to 85 i think) ran that console as well.

now i want to switch my car to a 5spd but not put in the older/camaro style console.

i ve never even seen a picture of a 5spd console plate for my car. its the one with the grid on it.

hawksthirdgen has a listing for a used one, but never have one in stock.

looks like this, but not auto

<title>LS1 brakes on a 3rd gen?</title>

<comments>I know I can get all the front brake stuff I need for about $300, but I ve got all four calipers, backing plates, rotors, etc.

What would it take to get the rear brakes on the car? I know I could find out at TGO, but it is blocked at work and I need something to kill some time here.
