<title>Few questions regarding 79 Firebird</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/12gen/read.cgi?msgid=18893</link>
<comments>Hello. First time here, so yay.

I am looking at buying a 1979 Firebird, with a 301. A few questions I have...

Would the tranny be a Turbo350? If I wanted to plop a bigger block (383, 400 type deal), would I need to consider a 400 transmission?

Are manifolds the same as the chevy small blocks, and will headers for a 350 work on the 301?

The dual exhaust I ve seen on some Trans Ams, with the two pips going down on each side...is that specific to any certain year?

Thanks a bunch, </comments>

<title>New here and have a Question</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/12gen/read.cgi?msgid=19200</link>
<comments>Howdy folks. Just found the forums and decided to join up. Car wise, 1968 Firebird. Love it to death. My question is.. How difficult and what all would have to be torn out of the way ( Taken apart/removed ) to do a rewire of the car? Car needs a little attention and I am planning to tear it down and rewire it later this year. Thanks ahead of time for any information you guys can provide. </comments>

<comments>Hello, new to your forum and had a question. The knowledge here seems endless so I thought I would ask the experts. I am in the process of doing a t bolt up to a Pontiac, I am also nervous about the spacing that would be created by using an adapter plate. I am also open to suggestion for the rear end gears. I would like to keep the original 10 bolt pumpkin for asthetic reasons. Thanks in advance.</comments>

<title>floor pan for my dying 69</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/12gen/read.cgi?msgid=19543</link>
<comments>this is what happened. i was givin this car in running shape but i had no key so it sat in my yard for five years covered, but in the dirt. i now realize this was dumb. my floor pan rotted right out of the car. my first time turning over the engine after sitting for 13 years, my reliable 350, started right up and runs great. but my floor and roof have started rotting. where can i buy a floor pan that can be installed w/o tearing the whole car apart?

Any info on this subject will be helpful. </comments>

<title>1968 firebird .. rear end seems off-center?!</title>
<link>http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/12gen/read.cgi?msgid=19540</link>
<comments>Hi guys,

I was measuring the rear fenderwell clearances on my 1968 firebird to decide for a wheel spacer and noticed that the right wheel sticks out about an inch more towards the fender lip than the left wheel. Also noticed that the right wheel is sitting more towards the rear of the vehicle and the left wheel more towards the front... Has anyone heard of a such misalignment situation? It could just be the rear fender sheet metal, but I don drop)
