For once I was speechless

This weekend some friends and I drove our cars to Saratoga, NY for the All Firebird and TA show sponsored by Firebird Nation of North America. The show covers one night and one full day and attracts the top Pontiac Fbodies from each generation from as far West as Ohio, South to Maryland and North to Maine.

This year it was touch and go as to whether we would make it at all given the extensive repair/resto work we have been doing to our cars and as of Thursday night it was still a coin toss. We decided to make the trip and was it ever the best choice.

We had a blast driving the 2.5hrs up the Thruway and being in the 10 mile Firebird parade through town led by the police and then hitting some of the nicest restaurants and bars in the State of NY.

(Guys, Summer in Saratoga is THE place to be since all the girls from Skidmore college are running around loose and hitting the lake and bars every day of the week)

I'm glad I made the trip because at the end of the show one of the judges told me I had to move my car. I thought he needed the space for the awards ceremony so I started to drive toward the parking lot. Then he told me to pull it to the front row since I won 1st place.

I nearly shit myself.

I looked at him and asked him to repeat what he said and then acted like an idiot by repeatedly telling him I didn't deserve it. He was right though because I did win.

On top of it I had my picture taken for HPP Magazine. The show coverage should be in the Feb or March 2009 issue.

Also, I was on My Classic Car today. They filmed a show I attended back in October. My car was with the group that had a banner welcoming the TV show and you could see it in the opening shot.

Here are some of the pics from yesterday

This one is for Birdman. You know you love this car Bryan!

I think this is the only Skybird/TA in the world

Everyone thought this Formula was my car..I wonder why
