NASCAR on Fox sucks Posted By: 95ttoplt1 On: 07-05-2008 @ 21:09:57 Reply | Edit I'm sitting here watching the race, and we get free AFN (Armed Forces Network) from the army and they show the same channels as the states, but the commercials are Army propaganda, and they are not allowed to show regular commercials(as its funded with Gov't money). But Fox is now having the race anouncers read commercials during the race, which AFN has to cut out, so we get about two laps, before more propaganda. I'm watching a race on TNT. Fox doesnt do this.EDIT: I've been watchin this whole race and I like this format a LOT better because they only cut to commercials during cautions like this. All of the commercials I have seen are stupid Army "Don't drink and drive", "Reenlist in the army!!" "Don't treat women like they have a Vagina" And they have all been during green flag runs. The Picture in picture commercials is an ok Idea but they do it WAY different than Indy car coverage on ABC. TNT stil has to iron out some issues with their live coverage. AFN(the Armed Forces Network) buy the footage of the race from TNT, but since the AFN is gov't funded they are not allowed to show corporate commcials. So when they cut to a break and on TNT have a coke commercial, we instead see a AFN commercial which is some sort of Army propagana(is re-enlistment, saftey, equal oppurtunity) That why you don't see any of the things I am talking about. There were a few Army commercials here and one REALLY corny one where they compared a nascar car to some 8-wheeled monster that the Army uses.
