rant time...
2 months of feeling sick as hell (it takes that long to get to a specialist i suppose). 20 years old, i have Crohns disease (missed a lot of work). Shitty work insurance, now bills out the ass for treatment, 50+ dollars a month in pills, 10 a day for now.
1 Day after i find out its Crohns my service manager comes up to me and tells me our insurance company will not insure me to drive ANY customer or company vehicles because i have 2 tickets in the last 3 years (even tho i voluntarily took a defensive driving course and only have 4 points on my indiana license).
The kicker, ive been working there for a year now, allegedly not insured the entire time. I was even backed into by some lady while DRIVING a customer vehicle 5 or so months ago, and there was a police report done and everything. so wtf happened there?
Anyway, so they tell me they'll try to keep me on as long as they can, but they dont know how much good a tech is that cant drive customer vehicles. I am completely blown away, i dont know what to do. Their insurance company is so retarded that even if i only had ONE yes ONE fuking ticket in the last 3 years i would still ONLY be able to drive vehicles in and out of the shop and not on the road. What kind of bullshit insurance company is that? i have half as many points on my license than you get for running a stop sign and because of that i cant safely drive cars?
If anyone has any advice i could really use it. I love the place i work and the people i work with, its like a family to me.
I live in a small town, there are hardly any dealerships around, i dont have the experience yet to go out and just get a good line tech job anywhere i want. Even tho for only working on cars for a year at a dealership they've already let me get into everything other than heavy trans/rear end work and warranty work of that nature. So for now im stuck living at my parents house barely making it as things are.
BTW the insurance company is Federated Insurance so if anyone ever gets the opportunity dont even give them a thought.
All ive been able to say lately is "i just dont know what to do"
The pills have me up, i cant sleep, the anxiety and such doesnt help.

dude crohns sucks, I have a good buddy/crazy junkyard part man with it and I feel really bad for him and anybody else with it.
But as for work...I don't understand, couldn't somebody else just drive the cars and you, y'know, actually do the work on 'em? and how long till your points come back?
Either way, stop driving like a maniac!
Hope things get better for you, man. Get drunk and watch some fireworks. That'll help. --

Hey, you are asking your employer/dealer and their insurer to bet around a million bucks on you, a guy with a proven risky behavior. Ya got to get real and settle a bit---might not be as fun now but it's worth it in the long run. I'm guessing after you turn 21 a different rule might apply--- have your boss check on it and see if you can wait till then. In the mean time, what it
