I like the first one of the two.

If you are going to spend that kind of money, why not go for a finer brand?

Citizen is Ok, but you can get a nice swiss watch for thast kind of cash that might actually appreciate in value AND is worh handing down to someone else one day.

I collect watched ans usually spend between $600 and $4500 each. I have some beaters and some for special occasions only.

Look at some of the stuff below and see if there is anything you like.

Also, go to Fortunoff in White Plains. They have a nice Raymonnd Weil and Movado collection and usually have sales. Those two have very nice watches in your range.

I would go with the first one. it has the face distinguished from the band, which is slightly more elegant. you could wear it on nicer occasions as well as every day use.

as i said, tissot watches are great quality and not too expensive.

Of the two you posted, Id go with the first one (in all silver as you posted later in the thread).

However, Im with Nick on this one bro. If you are spending around 250-350, Citizen and Seiko is more then fine. They make some nice watches, and both of the ones you posted are slick looking. If you are going to spend $500(ish) or more though, I would step up and find a clearanced Movado or another watch with a swiss movement. They are classy, instantly recognizable, and have a crystal face that can take a BEATING. (there were plenty of times I did something to mine that I was SURE would have scratched it before I looked down, but it always came out okay).

Mens Movado watches generally run in the $800-$2000 range (and even up from there of course if you want diamonds!). If you shop around, you can get them at 25-50% off with no problem at all. My Delphino was $1000-1200 new, and I paid about $650 for it a few years ago.

I have 2 Sector watches and they take one heck of a beating and still look great.

The one diving watch from them I have is powder coated aluminum nad weighs nothing at all.

Sector is reasonably priced, they get compliments everywhere I go and there is a 99.99% chance that nobody else you know is going to be wearing one.

The problem is that if you ever do need repair work, it has to be sent to Rhode Island to the Watch Hospital and takes weeks.

A watch can be an investment as well as something to wear.

Do you still wear pullups just because they're PRACTICAL and inexpensive

Its seems that everyone likes #1 or #2. I should of made a poll

I already have a Rolex Daytona. the band broke and I never bothered replacing it. Now I cant even find it. its somewhere in the house.

I also have my Father's Russian Army Watch. He got it when he was in the Red Army.

for those who are telling me to get Movado or sieko...etc...please post watch models.

as pathetic as it is, i always end up buying Fossil watches. I know they are cheap, but for under $200 bucks i get a lot of compliments and they are also more my style.

With that said, i really like some of the cartiers.

i've broken every watch i've ever worn, usually doesn't take more then a month or so...so i stopped wearing them a few years back
nick, pullups arent really practical or cheap compared to using a toilet, its also not nearly as sanitary so ..and they're definetly not inexpensive..i cant wait till my son is fully potty trained LOL

Tyrel- Fossil watches have proven to be some of the nicest affordable watches. I am on my second, I've had it for probably 3 or 4 years now. My last one got smashed when I got in a motorcycle accident, but that one was working perfectly up until that point (probably had it for 4-5 years). The one i have now was ~100. Its what I wear every day at school, but it also works fine when I dress up. (When I am home I have my WATCH, which I wear when I'm dressing up... would never think about having it at school though).

Alex- these are some tissot watches i like.

i would go to a shop with a nice selection and try some on. When i got my watch as a grad. present, my parents took me to the jeweler to see another one that i thought i liked a lot more, tried it on, and it looked really bad on my wrist. definitely try to get a nice crystal face though. even though i baby mine, ive hit it on stuff and whatnot and it still looks perfect.

Alex

Go to Fortunoff in White Plains.

They carry Movado, Breitling, Omega, Tag, Swiss Army, Oris, Concord, Raymond Weil, Hamilton, IWC, ESQ, Cartier, and have pretty good prices and sales, especially with the holiday and Father's Day coming up.

You have to go online for a Sector dealer. I only know of places in NYC that carry them.

Alex- I have to say that I like that one a lot more with the black outlined hour/minute hands (the picture when you first open that link).

Also, I know in Philly there is a street called Jewelers Row. It is just a long row of jewelry shops, many of which have large watch collections. I'm willing to bet there is something similar in New York that you could check out when you get a chance, just go and see a lot of different things.

(And the cheesecake factory is overpriced shitty food. Yeah, its all trendy and you feel cool... but I KNOW there is better in NY!)
