Low coolant light not turning off

Hey guys,
My low coolant light will not turn off..I checked coolant level and it was just a tad low--I added a small amount of coolant, but light still will not go off--Bad sensor? -- '99 Trans Am
Suncoast ram air, , 160 degree therm, SLP Loudmouth, SLP Y pipe, GM 3.73's, T/A rear end cover, BMR strut tower brace, Eibach sportlines, Baer eradispeed crossdrilled, slotted rotors, Hawke pads, 17 x 9.5" Chrome C5's, HPP3.

Could be... I'd drive it a little first and see if it goes off... Sometimes those things won't just kick right off, they want to make sure you really did put some in rather than just tipping the car on a hill or something... Sort of the same way a fuel level sensor only checks the fuel level on an interval so that it doesn't constantly flip flop as you take turns... The coolant may take a tad longer as it actually set a code and may not unset it for a few mins...
I suppose you could always unplug the comp for a while to reset it and then see if it comes back on...  --

mine is doing the same thing but it does not look like a blown head gasket mines holding coolant fine.

The sensors are prone to go out for some reason. It's fairly common. If you keep having to add coolant though, you have a problem.
If not then you can either unplug in, like I did, or you can replace it.

the computer has to have i think 3 error-free readings before the light goes away.
