Open Shortys'

Posted By: rob69zombie On: 05-13-2008 @ 16:32:51         Reply | Edit
Is there any harm in running open shorty headers? I know the dangers of running open manifolds, but I plan to start up my 91 this weekend and I don't have the rest of my exhaust yet.

they say its 'possible' to warp a valve when you turn it off. the cold air comes in the pipe and gets to the heads.

ive never had a problem with mine...but i might be lucky

i've done it on both my t/a and my wagon.

both cars had lame flowtech shorties as well.

i ran the wagon for quite a while with no exhaust, but the t/a was only ran for about 10 min.
